Dog owners— does gender matter? I’m adopting a puppy and noticed people prefer female. I really don’t have preference but i’m curious the reason. Male dog owners- what are the cons or something i should be aware of when adopting a male puppy?
Hi everyone! So I'm kinda questioning my gender views of myself and I need help and education on what I'm feeling. In essence, I can't discern whether I'm a cisgender, straight female that isn't always super feminine, or if I'm really closer to non-binary, or have fluid gender expression (is that correct?) Will add examples/reasoning why I'm questioning this below. In essence I can't tell if this is a personality trait or gender question
Any single men in Dallas Fort Worth area? Transferring to be closer to family from DC and not looking forward to the lack of diversity (or texmex, whatever that is) 😫
People are always asking/publishing about executive-level metrics on racial/gender diversity...what companies have strong neurodivergent representation in management and at the executive level? This info seems impossible to find!
What cities in the US can someone get a lot of nature/green space but also some of the big city feel? My job just went fully remote and I’m debating on leaving my home town(Tampa). I’ve lived in Denver before. Loved it but felt it was lacking diversity and some city aspects. Any recommendations for a straight single 28M?
Hello! I am looking for some perspective. Those who have been in an arranged marriage - 1. What qualities did you seek in a partner? 2. How long did it take for you to decide that your partner was the right one when you first started talking to them (how frequently did you meet them)? 3. How important was your family's opinion? 4. Are you happy with your decision right now? Please provide your gender and experience. FYI - I am a little skeptical about arranged marriages, but I have seen it work
Less than 2% of carpenters, plumbers, and electricians are women. Do you think there is a social justice component to increasing this, as it will likely reduce the total gender earning gap?
Accenture, BCG, Deloitte & E&Y all signed up to be in the consortium for eliminating the gender pay gap. All the sudden I'm feeling the urge to switch firms!
I have social anxiety and I feel like I am being punished because of that. I am not being promoted and was told to work on confidence even though my technical performance was outstanding. I wished I can just "work on my confidence" and boom. But it's not gonna happen like that. Diversity has been the hot topic these days. Why do we view shy people, introverts, socially anxious people as less capable? Should I accept that PA is not for me or can I do something to contribute?
LEK London fish, what are your thoughts on the level of diversity in the office? L.E.K. Consulting
Kind of aggravated with the example male leadership is setting right now with regard to parenting at CV. At least 5 men in leadership have had new babies in the last month and it seems like some have taken no time off or only the bare minimum. We have 12 weeks and should be encouraged to use it! If leadership isn’t taking advantage of their own policy, what does that say to the rest of the staff? In my perspective, this is likely further contributing to the gender disparity in CV leadership
Is EY diversity a scam? Women promoted to partner but overall all white. In my office out West, many of us staff/seniors are Asian but despite there being Asian SMs, only white M/F get partner promote
What stage of being black at work are you? (When viewed by others). Physical threat? Suspicious? Diversity hire? Aggressive? Uppity? Accepted?
Hi everyone! The Agency DEI Database just launched to standardize diversity data and measure progress. Help us spread the word? 🙏 @agencyDEI on LI and IG www.Agency.DEI.com
I went to an Equity, Inclusion, and Social Justice training. It was really interesting, but I would've loved some ideas for concrete, actionable steps for me as a teacher. Any advice or resources?
Saw this in the main thread but thought I’d ask y’all here for some more diversity What’s your favorite book you’ve read this year? I’ll start...
Does anyone have book recommendations on gender bias/microagressions? For context: got into an argument with my dad bc he is moving and he said he doesn’t know about the mattress sizes “because that’s something a female who is into design and decoration would know” 🥴🤮 smh idk wtf a mattress has to do with design/decoration or women and this man needs education. thanks in advance
Anyone had experience with EY experienced hire? I got invited to this Spotlight on Diversity networking event as part of their recruiting process. Just wondering what to expect. Thanks!
Has anyone else's firms essentially dropped their DEI programming? After last summer, we had a lot of virtual meetings with speakers and awareness weeks for various affinity groups. The diversity committee also had meetings planned. The awareness weeks scheduled for 2021 summer, fall, and winter never happened, and the diversity committee meetings keep getting canceled and never rescheduled.
Anyone else in midlaw not get a bonus, raise or even a fucking COL adjustment? Or is that just me? 100+ attorney firm located in Silicon Valley. Time to polish up that resume….
Thoughts on ad agency diversity data, now that it’s being released? “Across the entire (Havas) organization in the U.S., 6.11% of employees are Black, 10.8% are Hispanic or Latino and 9.66% are Asian.”
I'm a recent Senior Consultant hire at Deloitte Advisory with 100K base and 7K hiring bonus. Haven't received my yr 1 bonus, but they said "up to 20%". Lateral hire from industry. Never done consulting/advisory/professional services before. Where does that put me in comparison to others? Feels like it's middle of the road. But I've been wrong before.
1st year post-mba realizing a meaningful part of the job is saying you were wrong without actually admitting fault or saying that you’re wrong lol. My go-to euphemisms enclosed. Let me know yours :)
Hi all! Anybody interested in working in medical education and marketing/communications? I love my job and the people I work with. DM me for info.
Those of you who were married before you joined consulting, did you get pushback from your spouse? Mine was a MBB consultant before marriage. When I got an MBB offer our relationship changed (contd)..
How fast is too fast to get an offer? I had two easy interviews (founders only) and got an offer $20k higher than asking in under 72 hours from first call. It's a very small 9yo company, very niche product, and I’m finding no behind-the-scenes information (doesn't even show up in Glassdoor.) Two other prospects are going very well, but still have 3+ rounds to go for each. Did I just hit the jackpot, or is this too good to be true? Would you take the offer, try vetting them further, or run?
As a project manager, if the client keeps adding scope, and I’m pushing back to protect my team due to resource & time constrain, is it good? Or should I kiss client’s ass?

For those who came in as campus hires from undergraduate when do your recommend starting to interview around at other companies? After your first promotion? After a few years at the firm? Anytime?
Hello all. McKinsey is hiring across all roles right now. If you would like a referral shoot me a DM.
So I think we can all agree that agency work is soul crushing right now. Endless zooms, pitches going nonstop, lack of connections. Question... is an in-house role any better right now? Would my life be... more manageable?
usually every 6 mos I dream of quitting. whenever a good offer comes I can never bite the bullet. currently have an offer with 15% raise with a good title and great company. still can't do it...
