We had people vote for charity organizations by putting their placecards in different boxes, and we donated to the winner instead of giving actual favors!
I love this!
No one cares about favors! If you are looking for places to save money or spend it elsewhere this is one. If you absolutely must have them, something edible people can take back home or to their hotel are the best. This could chocolates/candies and even saw one wedding have pizza in to-go boxes for everyone for a late night snack.
If you really don’t want to do edibles, I think personalized Beer coozies are cute- we have some from a friends wedding and they live in one of our coolers.

Yep agreed! We gave something edible so people could eat it later that night and don't have to travel with
Nope, get me drunk and feed me and have good music instead.
Agree they’re cute in the moment useless later. We did hand sanitizers for my sisters wedding. Something useful at least.
But then “useful” varies person to person. I hate hand sanitizer can’t remember the last time I used it
Agree with the above. Skip it. If you feel you can’t skip, do food
I hate when people pass out favors. Always goes in the trash.

As a guest, something edible is preferred. I did get a nice scented candle from a local wedding.
For our wedding, all our guests are flying in and we’re doing hand sanitizer. We spent <$1 per person and know we’ll have leftovers. But we’re ok with leftovers as we know we’ll use it.
I did welcome boxes for the hotel rooms instead with waters, snacks, and hangover stuff (liquid IV and advil). I also had koozies made, but my BIL owns a print shop so it didn’t cost us anything. If it wasn’t free I would not have done it.
Oh I forgot to add - we hired a magician to walk around to the tables and people LOVED it!
I had mine in a basket on the way out and only a few were taken (150 ppl wedding)
Skip it. We were going to skip it then we saw Pocky on sale at Costco and decided to do that to double as a late night snack. But honestly we were planning on skipping it.
Nope
We did donations to 5 organizations instead of favors and our guests loved it!
I think we’re doing cookies to take home and popcorn because a lot of people are flying from out of state. Just makes it easier!
Idk, I always think they're cute in the moment, but don't know what to do with them later.
We did oyster shell place cards and made the table numbers super small so people could keep them if they wanted. And then we did late night pizza instead of favors.
I mostly ordered oysters from island creek oyster throughout the year and cleaned and saved the shells each time because it was a good excuse to order them. But I also got some from local restaurants!
We did small boxes of See’s candy, wine and nuts in the welcome bag, and leftover wedding cake in to-go boxes for late night eating (it was a small wedding so we weren’t buying hundreds of favors). If you have a traditional big cake, you will probably have extra cake anyway so giving some to the guests who want it or who maybe didn’t get around to eating cake during the reception doesn’t really cost anything extra. We also gave cake to all the staff and they appreciated it too. You can buy cute little pink bakery boxes in bulk online for cheap. I think either food/alcohol or nothing is the way to go because nothing else is really going to be universally enjoyed and favors can be hard for them to pack in their suitcase.
No. Nooo
No one cares about favors! We instead had a 360 photo booth that kept guests entertained
