Does anyone see a psychologist? How did you find them? Trying to go through my insurances healthcare portal but it's not very aligned to mental health services.

Very few US therapists take insurance; administrative cost is too high - you pay out of pocket and then reimburse from your insurance.

Yes. I did a few searches on goodtherapy.org etc but then mostly went by a friend's reco. I spoke with a few until finding the one that works for me.

Good luck many in my area don't take insurance.

If your insurance does out of network, sadly mine doesn't

^ good to know. <takes note about D benefits>

Even if you're not in network, you can submit claims through your insurance company and they will send you a check and will usually cover half.

We have about 10 insurance plans, I picked the one that covered 100% in network I HATE co insurance

I've been to 3 sessions so far, liked it although not too radical yet

Oh yeah I agree. Was more like diagnostics so far but even that helped

Alright, that’s a wrap everyone. I’m signing off for today. I hope you were able to get some value from the posts and comments in the Q&A today. One takeaway for me is that there are a lot of people thinking about mental health and looking for support. That quote “Be kind, for everyone is fighting a hard battle” comes to mind. I hope you can all offer up some kindness to yourselves and others as you continue to grow your wellbeing.

Deloitte fishes - how does it look switching across sectors as a new experienced hire? For example if I was in consumer product and want to go to Life Sciences and Healthcare or if I was in Life Sciences and went to TMT, is that frowned upon? Don’t want to lose my current network and have to start “new” elsewhere but I don’t really like my current sector

I’m having a hard time staying motivated lately. Really apathetic about everything. Feels like I’m falling into a bad depressive slump. I’m getting more and more behind on work because I just can’t sustain focus for longer than a couple hours at a time. There’s no one to shift my workload to, and as much as the legal industry talks about lawyer mental health, it’s still a taboo topic. I know it’s the pandemic causing this downswing, but I don’t know how to shake myself out of this rut.

Team is great, client isn’t too bad but I always have a huge work load and I’m constantly stressed by tight deadlines. One thing that really helped my anxiety situation is switching to decaf coffee. I know there’re a lot of decaf haters. But personally, I LOVE the taste of coffee but after 2 cups (and sometimes even just one cup) my mind will start racing and I’ll start worrying about literally everything. A friend of mine told me to quit caffeine and I listened. I was able to find delicious decaf coffee that tastes just as good as. I sleep better now and have even better energy. ✌️
