Early in my career I worked at a hotel. I had s couple of regular guests that I booked there rooms and made sure when possible they were in good rooms. If you don’t want to slip a bill over, just write a thank you note and put it in there. It will look just like that to their colleagues It will be very much appreciated and unexpected.
