I have 3 year experience working at Deloitte Consulting and want to move on to a Sales role and Career. I currently make $110K, is this feasible comp to make starting out in Sales?. How can I learn about comp in your industry?
Besides the comp question, are there any resources/forums/books online that anyone can recommend that’ll get me a good understand of what to expect out of a sales role, different sales roles, how to succeed, build career, etc. Im starting from 0
Thank you!
Referrals are not asked for, they are earned through trust!
Build a connection.
Go on LinkedIn and search “Hubspot”
Click “People”
Identify someone who works at hubspot and is an alumni at your university.
Send an connection request with an outreach message that looks something like this,
“Hi [name] - hope all is well and you're staying healthy with everything going on! I noticed that you’re also an alum of [school] and are doing [field] at [company]. Would love to learn from your experience & expertise in [field] if you have a couple of minutes via Zoom or on here. Thanks!”
This can get you started with getting a referral.
No I'm Pipedrive addicted :)
What Hunter Ales said. Also, if you're willing to spend $85/month, subscribe to Sales Navigator to figure out who the (hiring) sales management folks are that you want to get to. Then you can figure out who you know who knows them ("XX shared connections". Then you can send those "intermediary" connections a note via email or LinkedIn using the same email as Hunter Ales has written. Good luck!
