NYC, rising 4th year, V5, M&A. In July, I got the call from the partnership that I should begin to “explore other options.” I always knew when I left, whether on my terms or not, I would exit to finance. It’s been a rough transition. Been pretty discouraged and hit a low point of shame & apathy in August. Just wanted to say that I finally landed my first formal PE and IB interviews this week and am beginning to feel hopeful again! I think it’s all gonna work out.

So I recently started a position with Fox. When it was presented to me in interview, I was told I would be working aligned with Fox Sports & Entertainment, not so much News. Now that I’m here, I’m seeing everything I’ll be doing is with the News team & makes me uncomfortable. No diversity, outdated software & process.
Financially, it’s the best position I been in. But mentally in this environment, it’s depressing & slow. Nothing innovative or engaging. What would you do?
