EY1, wtf? The political statement was so unnecessary.

Lol no! They let obama get a credit card and he got the country $10T deeper in debt!

Nope everyone gets one

like

It can. If you have a bad history with Amex, you may not be able to get it. You company will have to make a case and act as a guarantor.

like

M1, thanks, that’s also what I came across in my research online. Safe to wait for the decision and then see if they go the guarantor way?

My start date is in less than two weeks but my international criminality check is still pending (4 weeks and counting). Will they let me join the firm while the security company runs this in the background? I have proof of no criminal record for 3 out of 4 countries where I worked and lived in. The 4th country is Hong Kong and request of no criminal conviction can only be made when applying for a work visa there.

Big 4 SCs that moved from US to Canada or any other country, what was your US pay vs ‘new country’ pay Relocating due to visa issues. At 150K USD now, getting ready for a pay cut. What can I expect?

This one is for folks on h1b visa. So at time when you have an offer in hand(not accepted the offer yet and h1b transfer process not yet begun) while you are working with your current employer, do you even speak to your employer about your new offer to see if they make a counter offer? Is there a risk involved with this approach assuming your current employer doesn't provide you with a counter offer and they ask you to leave immediately (and your h1b visa hasn't been transferred either)
