Your stats were probably not as weak as you thought, T-15 average stats are surprisingly low. Perhaps you had good interview performance but they don’t admit people for sob stories.

Putting aside random snarky comments on here, I would totally explain it! I talked about how I’m an immigrant in mine and I’m Indian

Has anyone done a 2-hr roundtrip daily commute for years? Unfortunately in this situation due to location of spouse’s job -it’s fairly rural and that area doesn’t have the same level of education (kid is about to start K), diversity, convenience, jobs opps me, stuff to do or parks as our current city has. Switching jobs is not an option for him unfortunately. I do feel very guilty about the long commute for him though.

Need an advice, even though I’m an HR. So, I’m unemployed at the moment and want to start looking for a new job. I negotiated my way out for several reasons 1) My boss was not comfortable doing diversity initiative insisting that all lives matter and we’re meritocracy based business 2) I was responsible for 33 countries, which was very demanding in a time of Covid, as I had to be on most crisis committees directly or as as oversight, and at the same time I have a child on spectrum, and with the

My dad passed away 10 years ago.He was a “good”dad while alive (not the best husband). I spent lot of my youth/adult life fixing his mistakes after he died, which weren’t mine to fix. While I have tried to forgive him for myself, the relationship with his memory is complicated. Our family friends (husband and wife) who really were there for us in every sense after his death came to visit. That “uncle” is the closest thing to a father that I have. Today, I really wished he had been my father.

Parent has a thrift savings plan and it’s all in bonds which yields a really low rate of return. retiring this year. With coming inflation, would it be a good idea to consider shifting at least some of that into other funds like the C Fund (common stock index) or otherwise diversify? They don’t need all of the money right away but would need to slowly dip into it over time. TIA!

What is the parental leave policy at your firm? Please include: (1) size of firm; (2) location of firm; (3) how many paid weeks off (from firm - not state/fed); (4) other perks, such as ramp up/down time, etc.

Is there a standard rule in terms of how much you save vs. Spend out of your take home income? For long term financial health. About to become a father and thinking of renting a larger place, rent will increase by $500, other expenses will increase by $500 and ultimately I will save 60% of take home. Worried a little and wondering if it's still a good saving percentage.

Mamas that still bathe your children (meaning, your kids are not 14), do you put lotion on them afterwards? There is a debate in our house about whether this is truly necessary. I lotion myself after I bathe, so it's just natural to me that I would lotion my toddler. My husband hates lotion and has dry, cracked hands all winter 🙄
