We started back in August in distance learning mode, core subjects only. So no STEM classes. One of our 8th grade teachers was out on maternity leave, so I was asked to take that spot for the first semester. I was a long time 5th grade teacher, so not a difficult adjustment, except for learning new to me digital curriculum.

I have 2 STEM classes for the second quarter. Still online, so my focus is on coding.

Wondering what other STEM teachers are doing online?

I'm looking to buy my father in law a nice kosher single malt whiskey. Price range $60-$100. I got him an Auchentoshan 12 a week back, but apparently it's no longer recommended as kosher (something to do with sherry casks). My firm is being sued for discrimination, and I’m not sure what to make of it (and no one has really addressed this yet from the leadership). What currently bothers me is that the underlying behavior as I read it in the complaint is what I’ve seen happen a couple of times in the firm to both male and female associates, POC or not: a pattern of nasty behavior when the associate stops being 100% available and immediately responsive, be it because they have a new child or an illness or death

Currently a Big4 D with 12+ yo tenure focusing on M&A Integration. Just had my second kid and looking for significantly better WLB (I.e., close laptop after 5pm with few exceptions).

Have offers on the table from 2 smaller (500-1000p) consultancy firms that reached out to me for a Transformation Director role. Both promise a much better culture and WLB. Both expect significant growth over the next few years with ditto opportunities.

3 yr old kid was diagnosed with mild autism, any parent who has gone through this journey? Does mild Autism gets any better or worse with age, asking because we didn't had any issue up until 2.5 yr and suddenly everything started to fall down with start of preschool.

What’s a good parent/kid weekly activity for a 3 year old? My son and I go to parent/child gymnastics every Saturday morning then brunch, but after 3 years old the class is drop off. I like our mornings together and want to find another joint activity.

Ik this is a version of Christian guilt, but I'm scared we've tainted our "story". Outside of this, I had no real reservations about our relationship but now I'm scared this is some sort of "sign" or something.

I can’t tell anything to my 22 year old daughter unless it’s sweet, light and approving at all times. Any instruction, input advice has to be provided in sweet tones or I am mean and vicious. I feel so fake about not being irritated, anxious or impatient around her, always this carefully cultivated calm model mother. It’s COVID times and we have had a death in the family, gods sake!
