Do you mean like using your annual leave before you have accrued it? I assume so if your a permanent employee. Kpmg does let you if that helps.
Yes, from my experience. Currently have negative PTO balance
They will tell you no if you ask talent, but you technically can as long as you don’t go negative more than what you would accrue for the remainder of the year. For example, if it’s June and you 0 hours of PTO, but want to take a two week trip, as long as you will accrue 80 hrs of PTO by the end of the yr you’ll be fine.
Just a heads up, you might already be scheduled on a client by the time you start and won’t be able to add PTO if that’s the case. Technically you can request approval if on a client already, but I’d be mindful doing that during your during couple of months.
Yes
Just make it clear with your engagement leads and or local PPMD. I went negative when I started but I gave my MD plenty of notice and he really didn’t care.
Yes
Yes, it’s allowed
Yes. I was a new hire but had vacation planned within my first couple months, so my PTO was negative but after a couple weeks it’ll all even out. Not a big deal
Yes i was hired in october and then went negative slightly during the christmas and new year time
I thought all big 4 had "unlimited" PTO. RSM does. It can be okay, as it let's new staff take PTO sooner, but I do think they'll take less overall. That being said I know of a senior that was fired who took an excessive amount of time off. But, supposedly the termination wasn't related to that.

Only EY has unlimited.
