I'm at 75-100 a day on food. Also fat as hell
There is no $50 or $75 limit for the uncle D green card. Keep it reasonable breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack expenses.
@D5, they removed the guidance for $50. It varies too much by project and location. My project shoots for $75.
Huh? New to D?
Everyone I know spends atleast $70-$80 a day, where does $50 come from? I'm in S&O
50 is the firm provided guidance
People spend $75 every day on food?? That's ludicrous! Breakfast at the hotel (free), pick up coffee on the way to the office ($5), grab lunch somewhere quick because you have a zillion meetings (max $15), afternoon coffee ($5) So at $75 a day, you're spending $50 per night on dinner? No wonder people are always asking about weight loss techniques on here!
Easily can spend 100+ daily on meals for the past few years (fluctuates obviously but fancy restaurants for dinner is common). Big project so it's fine, but I've always heard from friends on other projects that they do the same. It's not quality of food, it's quality...and alcohol.
You get 50 a day (soft cap) when traveling.
PwC doesn't
The free food almost makes me want to switch to commercial
I go to the gym every day. I eat healthy dinners, with occasional few glasses of wine. They're sometimes decently expensive because the client city is expensive. Get over it.
@M1 did not understand ur logic behind your thoughts on not spending for my food because their are families getting less than a $100 for an entire month? As if the client is going to donate the remaining travel expense to such families if I don't use it. In Fact they might use that money to hire a competitor sitting right beside me . I rather utilize that money fully and then donate my lunch savings for a cause.
They do. I think EY may be the only firm that doesn't 😭
Yeah it's definitely not $50. More like $75
@D2: yes new to the firm. Thanks everyone else for the response. I hope it's $75 as $50 seems to be less for 3 meals in a day.
Depends on your SL and particular project. I've heard $50 a lot, but I also know projects that approve almost anything.
Hahah yes!
There are families of 4 spending less than that on food in a month. Just because you can spend $100 on dinner every night, doesn't mean you should. No wonder everyone on here seems burned out and miserable if you're spending a full work day and then a multi-hour dinner with your coworkers, then you aren't getting any time alone (or God forbid, at the gym!)
