I interviewed for Data Analyst role at EY, it went well and the job sounds great, but I'm a bit hesitant to leave PwC because I really like the firm and I'm just 8 months in my job as an associate at a subgroup of ITS that has some focus on technology and analytics but it's mostly tax compliance.
I do want to transition to data analytics but I'm not sure if it's a good idea to go to another big 4, or maybe just look for a position in industry.

The restructuring practice is in the M&A practice. It’s substantive and does a lot of deals with the big PEs and VCs. Just like every other consultancy.
I think this thread is confusing the Advisory restructuring practice with the Consulting one. The consulting one is in M&A and pretty substantial. I don’t know about Advisory … that used to be a small investment bank as I recall.
OK? That still isn’t describing principal consultants for restructuring activities in the vast majority of efforts …

You’ll need some accounting / financial modeling experience. Dunno how one goes about doing that without a CPA at Deloitte
You don’t need a cpa to do restructuring. A&M is the number one player in the space alongside Alix partners ... Deloitte isn’t really known for restructuring... in either place you’ll like start at the the bottom so might as well go someplace where you’ll be on higher profile engagements with a steady pipeline
Best way to start is look at some of their job postings, she what attributes / skills they’re looking for, and tailer your experiences on your resume accordingly
The Restructuring practice has just been sold off in the UK - and even before then, you’d only get in with an accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
