Do most people usually pass HC?
"TCS has announced bands for all its associates as of 6th May ( associates above C3B will get it a week later), but hasn't announced any performance bands for associates servicing notice period.
They have simply done this to cut costs, and not pay them their hike, for whatever period they're gonna stay in TCS."
Tata Consultancy Fishes, what can we actually do to get this resolved and get the well deserved compensation? Can we approach legally or at the least internal escalation?
Is tech as generous here as it is in the US?

If you want to retain your job, yes.
40 hours chargeable ? Not always. But always 40 hours minimum. Otherwise you get an error message when you submit the time sheet.
Always submit all hours you are at the office/doing something EY related. Even if it's an authorized project code. That reflects on your required overtime for the year. Essentially you should have a mix of chargeable/authorized project codes each week that add up to 47 or so hours to meet OT. #FreeTipFriday
37.5 when you calculate lunch
Has to be 40 at least
Can we talk about how much time sheets suck?
I actually think we get nastygram emails if we don't submit at least 8 a day. I had 40 hours entered for the week, but one of those days had 4 hours and I got an email telling me about how I need to update my time.
It should be written in a policy somewhere
KPMG is definitely 8 hours a day--you'll get "underreported time sheet" emails if you don't submit in time. And apparently time sheet compliance actually mattered in the management decisions--which totally flabbergasted my manager
Yep
So I used to think that I since I could work 70 hours in busy season it would be nbd if I worked 35 in non busy season like 4 weeks a year non-busyseason...and then I realized that it doesn't work that way. It's fucking bullshit.
@Senior 1. honestly, for the two months per year that i'm not in busy season, i only work about 12 hours a week. 4 day weekends and three half day shifts. use up my vacation that way.
My vacation days are sacred! I use them to go on one long vacation a year and take time off the week of thanksgiving and Christmas. I feel that there should be flexibility as long as the overall annual hour goals are met
Yes - standard is 40 hours. Even if a firm gives short weeks (like half Friday's) there's still usually some type of admin code to charge.
Our time is looked at on a weekly basis....so we don't necessarily need 8 per day. But as others have pointed out, you need 40 hours at least......combination of chargeable, authorized project, and non-chargeable.
Yeah PwC has a problem with you working less than 8 hours a day. I have gotten conflicting answers when asking HR whether it is 40hrs a week or 8hrs a day that matters.
well, we don't have annual hour goals here. it's just account for 8 hours minimum per working day all year long (even if that's to tag most of it to a filler code like market team ops if you were slacking off), no busy season bump up to 55 hour weeks anymore in jan-mar, and generally try to stay around 70-80% utilized on client work....
Report the hours you work and work the hours you report.. ALWAYS report at least 40 hours per week even if some of that time is unassigned, vacation, or some other non-client chargeable time. However, too much unchangeable time gets you the wrong type of attention.
We still have the 55 hour minimum pwc3
