Yes, you should get KT always for a new org/project. These days due to WFH/high attrition/too much workload, many teams/people are not providing enough KT or do not have a proper plan in place to onboard a new team member.
In such case, raise your issues as soon as possible in your daily calls with your manager, and politely explain that you would need proper KT before you can complete tasks yourselves.

I would suggest that, you ask ur supervisor/manager about KT, be frank, set correct expectations of what can you do (as per ur previous experience) and also ask what is being expected from you.
