We have an employee who continually takes intermittent FMLA. She never fully uses her 480 hours but comes close. Then she renews, year after year. Is there a limit as to how many times she can do this? She is a team lead and yes we have a back up for her but this is getting a bit frustrating for the managers. Any suggestions?

So I just started at a new company about 5 months ago. I’m already looking to leave. My boss should not be in the director of HR role she in, she does not have the experience for it. I applied for a Director Learning and Development (L&D) role at McKinsey about a month ago via a referral. About a week ago, my McKinsey employee (who referred me) received an automated email saying that I had moved to the pre-screening process of the recruitment process and that I'll hear from the recruiter shortly.

I am looking to gain certification or other credentialing in diversity and inclusion, not only because it would look good on my resume both for future job-search purposes and also to become better educated in this area, which is growing in importance.
I looked at SHRM's "Inclusive Workplace Culture Specialty Credential" and got a bit of "sticker shock" at the cost - $1,655.00 for members.

Where’s the line between giving your leaders the benefit of the doubt vs this pattern is pretty dang toxic? I don’t want to leave but I’m so exhausted by the gate-keeping, the self-interest of leaders lacking any kind of employee first mentality, and the lip service of “we want to make this the best place to work.” I’m being told I’m under-utilized but when I try to bring more to the table, I’m either given empty promises or immediately dismissed. - I’m severely burnt out on trust-fails.

I work in manufacturing and have seen an uptick in employees abusing substances. We have a zero tolerance policy & are abiding by it. We have trained all out supervisor on reasonable suspicion & have provided them with tools to help identify. With that I’m trying to find ways to get to our employees who may be struggling BEFORE they decide to come to work impaired. Any ideas on what to do? We do have an EAP & are encouraging employees to utilize the services but it may be falling on deaf ears.
