Client travel policy trumps our frequent traveler policy unfortunately.

If you are a frequent traveler and its over 5 hours If it is my team, for a redeye and needing to land and work, yes. Otherwise it is only 5 hours and it is a huge hit to the clients travel budget if it is recurring.

^and frequent traveler is defined as 120 days of out town travel

3 hours is the correct threshold for designated frequent travelers. I think the most important thing here is that the client's budget and engagement team need to approve it. From what I've seen, teams allow is for red eye flights especially when doing weekly coast to coast travel. That one leg on business class helps a lot with the sanity in your schedule I assume
