Does GMAT score matter much for IB or MBB recruiting? Do they usually ask for your scores?

I know this has been discussed before in this thread but I am new to fishbowl and want to hear people’s thoughts and experiences. I worked at big 4 tax for 3 years and then jumped to middle market because heard the grass was greener. Now I’m realizing tax may just not be what I want to do so I was hoping to get some advice on how to transition to a new field. I have friends going to get their mba but with a masters already I just want to know what other options there may be. Thanks for the help!

Would recruiters look fondly upon a masters in analytics from Georgia Tech? Either consulting or in industry. Looking for a way to shift into a machine learning/data science role, thinking that the online program might be a good way to do a grad degree without giving up work experience

Johnson (Full ride) or Stern (no $) or Darden (no $)? Post MBA goal is consulting in NYC (preferably MBB but Tier 2 is fine). Would be taking 130K loan for Stern & Darden. The latter 2 schools seem to have better prestige and recruiting opps but unsure if it’s worth the 130K in the long run.

What would be better move to continue getting good technical exp but also move up over 3-4 years before going to steady industry role towards security architecture? Currently new M in big4 cyber trying to figure out next step. Go to another big4? MBB? Cyber focused company? FAANG?

I am a 30yr old with a masters in finance and bachelor in Econ but I feel like I am not doing what I can to continue my education. I barely read but know I need to. Any page turning book recs that can get me start reading more?

Does anyone teach in class elementary, middle, or high school and also teaches college level? If so, how did you get the college level job? I have a masters and specialist degree and teach in class. I also want to teach college level online but have a hard time either finding a position available or applying. I’m now in the middle of my doctorate degree though it’ll be another year before I’m done.

Hey guys, looking for some advice. Finished my undergrad this past April from a top Canadian B-school (GPA: 82%) and now working at a boutique consulting shop as an Associate. Outside of work, I coach, chairman for a club I was a part of during undergrad, and will be starting an organization that supports women in education next year. Looking to get my MBA from a T7 school and either pursue a career in VC or strategy at one of the big Tech firm. Whats your advice for me to achieve those goals.

What’s the cooling off period for MBBs in cases where 1) failed an interview 2) didn’t get through to the interview stage? Does it apply to all the offices? What if I go through a different route (went through ‘experienced professional’ route without an advanced degree before - going to get my MBA next year so will be in the ‘student’ route now)

Should I renege offer from MBB?

An MBA recent grad. I signed with MBB last year. However, I have always wanted to do tech PM. I couldn’t find PM job in Fall and just signed MBB offer I have. I recently got an FAANG offer. It’s PM function, hard to break in with consulting experience. I declined the new offer during interview stage and again after they gave me initial offer, but it is coming back with 80k more in annual compensation. It made me so torn!! Should I renege MBB offer?

Has anyone used an mba admissions consulting firm to get into their dream school? If so, what did you use em for (essays, interviews, story creation, etc)? And how much did it cost? Worth it?

Strong consulting background at H/S. Applied for MBB NYC internship and got only 1 interview invite (failed to convert final round). Both career center and ex-MBB classmates are shocked. Any insights why others got more interviews than me?

Just venting here… At WAS for an adjustment interview based on an affirmative asylum and the officer said he’s never done and affirmative adjustment before… and questioned my client when he said that he has never been in proceedings. Officer said “I don’t agree with that, I think you *have* been in proceedings” when we submitted the affirmative asylum approval and I had to show that to him smh. Why aren’t they training these officers 😭

Hey folks. 3 YOE, working in tech at a great company, and making 135K TC in Austin.

Have an admit at Columbia and received 30K in aid each year, so I anticipate paying 110K in tuition. With cost of living in upper Manhattan, estimating an additional 35K each year, so 180K total cost.

I want to stay in tech post MBA, but explore faang companies and product roles. Is this worth the cost? I figure I could make a jump in comp at least?

Where’s the cut off with regional schools? Are t12ish schools like Ross and Stern mainly recongnized in Midwest and northeast, respectively? I heard Emory is recognized in the south only but that is also more like t20-t25 i want to say.
