Does having Docker on resume set cloud dev skills expectation? Wrote dockerfile, setup script to manage local environments. Big achievement for statisticians with no devops, but don't want to mislead

Hey, docker is a good starting point when it comes to devops but there are more technologies/tools involved (Jenkins, kubernetes, DBs, networking etc).
You need working knowledge of CI/CD, containerization, Version control (Github),Microservices, etc. and how they are all interconnected. At minimum you need to ensure that you have solid foundational knowledge of the technologies listed and fill any knowledge gaps that you may have.

Kubernetes alone, is a very robust technology and how well you know it, can determine if you land a junior/Mid/Senior devops engineer role.

Regarding the cloud portion, you need to be well versed with the at least 7-10 services offered by the Cloud provider. For example (AWS), you should be comfortable using: EC2, VPC, S3, EKS, ECR, IAM, RDS, Route53, CloudFormation etc.
Apologies for long message 😞

Hey, I wouldn't put in on your resume if you dont intend to apply to roles related to that. An interviewer can start asking Docker related questions, which could lead to a rabbit hole.

Apologies for misunderstanding your question.

Here is the problem. You are data scientist and you thought writing few lines of dockerfile will help you stand out. But, now with D1 s guidance you have to learn more and acquire all aspects of Dev Ops. Lol. Did you get it right?

Are champagne toasts at weddings classy? We are already hosting an open bar. I'm considering toasting with whatever drinks people have or getting Krug Grande Cuvee for a champagne toast. Will run close to $1k for 26 people. Toasting with drinks from the bar would just be a few hundred. The cost doesn't matter to me so much if it would actually make a difference. What are your thoughts on champagne toasts?

I am a solution architect at a 50 man Salesforce consulting shop. The economy and a string of sales team members coming and going or failing to produce, has resulted in a shortage of work for our delivery team.
