Does interviewing candidates while at MBB make you a better interviewer (such as when doing a case interview for PE funds)?

So I was laid off. Is it okay to talk about it at my next job interview? Feels like everyone knows anyway.

Looking for some advice.. Manager left, I was given their work. Promoted few months after, but not to the role of my previous manager. Rec opened, I applied, didn't get it. We hired the new person and in my hopes to offload some of that original work back to them. I was told I'm going to continue to do everything my previous manager was doing. Hey fishes, completed 3 tech rounds at Bosch.
Last tech + managerial round was on 10th Nov. Got HR call on 17th Nov. Told my expected package and she didn't seem to have any issue. On 22nd Nov, got a call from the consultant at taggd who has been arranging all my interviews. Told my expected CTC and she seemed a bit surprised but didn't negotiate and asked if I have any other offers? I asked when can I expected the OL, she said within a week but didn't take any documents. Can I expect the OL?

I was told to expect a written offer from one of the Big4 soon, however the HR team has stated that they are experiencing a back-log and will get back to me as soon as they hear back. I have been following up for the past 3-4 weeks and can’t help but feel nervous that it won’t fall through. Has anyone been in this situation with the Big4? Can they ghost you if they have already given you an offer (via phone) and you have settled compensation and start date with them verbally?

How useful is having worked with the PE practice (deal strategy, CDDs, etc.) of a consulting firm vs any other one when trying to break into PE?
