Does it ever make sense to contribute to a Traditional IRA if you can't deduct the contributions (e.g. over income limits)? Aware of Roth conversion but does it ever make sense to stick with Trad.?

No it doesn't makes sense to make a non-deductible contributions to tIRA and leave it there. Why would you leave your money in tIRA and have the gains taxed when you can near immediately move the funds to a Roth IRA and have the gains grow tax free?

Well the Roth conversion is called a "backdoor" and a "loophole for a reason".

And don't forget that people do use the tIRA to contribute tax deductible funds as well.

Is it smarter to buy or rent in current market? Ran the numbers and renting means ~$30k in cash flow benefit in Year 1. Other than value of house going up >$30k and rates being even higher in a year, what else do you need to believe to choosing to buy? First time buyer here, let me know if I am thinking about this completely wrong

Curious about net worth milestones. How long did it take you to go from 100k - 1m? What was your “story” (income/savings rate/asset allocation)? I realize many probably achieved this in the bull market we’ve been in, but still curious.

Hi all, we recently entered into an agreement with a builder for an under construction house that is expected to be ready by end of year. Wife was notified yesterday that she is being let go. Given that there is still some time to close ... Should we notify the lender or wait until we are close to actual closing while we look for another job.

After learning how credit utilization impacts one's credit score, I just raised the limit on 2 of my credit cards. I opened 2 cards last week in order to take advantage of cash back bonus deals.(cont)

If I move from TX (no state income tax) to NC, can I leave my savings account and brokerage address as TX (to not pay tax on interest and dividends) and update credit card accounts address to NC? Or..
