Add a note in the workpaper that you’re quitting effective in two weeks. Give it to your manager to review
I second this
There is no good way to do this. No matter what.
Should you have still done it? Absolutely! We are all replaceable.
Yes it looks terrible, and you find yourself asking the question because deep down you know it is wrong.
I left right before busy season. I knew ahead of time so I ended up giving a month notice in early December, final date 1st week of January. My main team had a couple months to find a replacement and conveniently a past team manager knew someone looking for a change. My other repeat team had much longer to find a replacement. Meanwhile my new team for January/February just had the 1 month. I started with my main team then other repeat team then new team, going from partner down in all of them. In person conversations when possible. I gave enough notice and kept working through the month that no one was openly bitter. I'm sure there was some hidden resentment but I had good teams who supported me, understood my reason to leave, and wished me well.
