Does it make sense to do MBA from ISB if you're already earning 23 LPA with 5 years experience?

It may, depending on where you see yourself in the next 5-10 years and your long term goals. 2 key considerations - a) If you're keen on non-tech / management roles (eg management consulting, sales and marketing, leadership rotation programs) then the MBA will help you land those roles b) Please be more thoughtful while doing the cost / benefit analysis - a) Consider compensation trajectory 1-3-5-10 years out of the MBA vs where you are currently, not just the immediate post MBA salary b) When benchmarking the ISB PGP fee, look at the right comparables. For the same level of brand equity / opportunity in India, only IIM ABC (maybe K,L) will match up - but you need to get in through CAT and sacrifice an additional year of your life. If you look at programs overseas, costs are easily at least 2.5x higher. I'm not saying ISB will guarantee you success, or that you'll definitely be better off if you do the course. Just pointing out a few things you should think about. All the best!

Although you haven’t mentioned your skill set, it doesn’t make any sense. ISB fees are the highest among top B schools and they are not worth it unless you don’t want to stay in the technical side of things

No - if its all about money for you at the end of the day. Yes - if you are not in a role that satisfies you or you see yourself hitting the ceiling after a while. Management and its skill is altogether different game on a different field. A lot of stats and a bigger impact on people should be your aim to start MBA.

I certainly don’t think it will hinder your success if it’s something you feel strongly about doing, but I think you can be just as successful without it.

Hi Everyone! It’s almost the end of the year and I decided that it’s time for a change in my career. I have been working as a business analyst at JNJ, with about 4 years of experience and halfway done with my MBA. I would like to move into a project management role (I have worked on my scrum master certification). I make about 68k a year and I feel like I’m due for a huge pay raise. I have been asking 105k-120k which companies have been open to. Am I asking for the appropriate amount?

Looking for advice … it often seems I am one click below the level I should be at given I joined consulting in my early 30s post MBA. Joined my current firm again as principal and often seems I can operate at partner level and definitely deliver and sell at one (10-15M year). Part of it has been pushing for it a lot and that I believe is not getting me the right outcomes. Any advice for partners that have been here? Just hit 40 as well.

I joined consulting from industry with a salary increase of 60% and in hope to work on interesting and challenging projects. It has been only 8 months. My old job was slow, bureaucratic and boring but I barely worked 7 hours a day. While I am happy that I am learning a lot, I am also pushing between 12 to 16 hours a day and working for a toxic client. I am worried I will burn out soon. How do you manage to stay in consulting for so long ?
