My wife worked at KPMG. Two weeks before she was scheduled to return to work from maternity leave, she put in her notice. There was no clawback.
FWIW - I have seen people join our firm and immediately take maternity/paternity leave. From what I have seen, frustrates the crap out of partners and others, but nobody wants to deal with the potential blowback of getting picky around parental leave
I would like to know the answer to this too
I've never heard of any company having a clawback related to taking a formal LOA. That feels like it wouldn't be legal.
No clawback from what I’ve seen. It’s already earned time off. Like taking vacation for 2 weeks and putting in notice after.
That makes the most sense honestly, since you have to work there a certain amount of time before you are eligible for it, it makes the most sense to view it as a benefit you earn/accrue.
