Is still travel overrated?
Market is hyped? Yes definitely... Yoe*4 is the pattern as of now I m seeing ... Is this sustainable? I think yes... Reason.. As due to corona first wave and now second wave third wave every body accepted and embraced the digitalization... Even a small businesses who was not online before corona found it difficult to run during corona time... So nobody wants to get cllapsed just becoz of any future corona type pandemic... So evey small business is getting into online and they need sites and softwares and then they need IT professionals to do so... And once they ll purchase software or license to host site.. They hv to maintain those.. And for maintaining again they need IT team.. So this gonna stay... And we indians are getting paid very very low as compared to the salary uk us provide.. So still so much margin..
100% agree - I've seen this question come up before and I think this is a pretty good take on the situation
Companies are charging 30-50$ per hour for your work from clients for a lot of skills. It can be even more based on your seniority. Clients have to pay 150-250$ to hire an onsite consultant. So ,they are hiring offshore folks. They save a lot of money.
These companies are not getting experienced people who can drive the project.
Now tell me do you think you are paid more . You are still getting peanuts. Noone is doing a favour. Everyone wants a good IT team , software platform and digital presence.
Not all companies are paying such crazy salaries. For every person who is getting YOE*(5 or 6), there are 20 people who are still getting YOE*(3 or 3.5).
Product based companies were always paying above average and will continue to do so.
The WFH situation is causing some issues in the WLB coupled with poor pay is resulting in high attrition in the service based companies. Hence they are willing to inflate salaries to hire more resources. Now, will this sustain? Only time will tell. It also depends on the economy. If business continues to grow, I don't see any reason why this should not continue.
But I repeat, don't think high salaries have become a norm. We're only hearing about people who have gotten them. As I said, for every person who is getting such an outrageous salary, there are 20 more getting a normal one.
Welcome to the world of not being abused.. 😊
😅😅😅😅
Currently market is volatile.. N it's upward surge.. Mainly bcoz.. Ppl r frustrated working maximum in lockdown. Few resigned n taking chance to switch then continue working in toxic environment.
Mostly important is wfh given everyone easy access to give interview.. Clear interview.. Bcoz one day u can give 2 Or 3 interview.. Earlier.. U need to put leave travel to other ofc.. Wait for interview. Etc all has cut down.. N counter offer is increased.. N also onsite work bought to local n it has given service based industries to increase budget offshore.
I had a discussion with one of Big4 senior directors who told that
Before The employees were paid 1/10 of pay that they get from clients or business.
Now with pandemic many clients reliazed something and started opening their own IT concerns in INDIA and many prdt bases evolved which gave a tough competition to these Big Service base MNCs and now they pay 3/10 or Max 5/10 of what they get from clients.
And
I have a friend's friend who was hired directly by an org. From USA based and it's permanent remote job he is getting paid 3000$/ month for his skill.
