If all the top consulting firms made anonymous decks or gave anonymous pitches to a client, eg no branding and the client did not know which firm made which deck, do you actually think that the client would prefer MBB? Is MBB actually coming up with better/more innovative solutions? I feel like I see many repeat or slightly altered solutions on almost all of my cases, are these really things that people at Deloitte/Accenture etc aren’t coming up with?
Curious to know what associate/consultant level compensation is in MBB or Big 4 in 2 locations: Tokyo vs Singapore
Are there any examples of former Black consultants making it to C-Suite at a company? In business school, they say MBB is the C-suite factory but has this been true for Black people in the C-suite?
Can anyone market size how much business either big 4 or MBB generate for hotels, airlines, and car rentals? This could be a great case.
Manager after 3 years at Accenture Strategy, which I joined out of Uni. Which title am I likely to get if transitioning at MBB?
Just joined Deloitte last week but heard Bain is recruiting and was wondering if it’s worth it to try for it? Background: 1 year exp in Engineering out of undergrad. Goal is to get into mbb post mba
How competitive is the mbb and tier 2 consulting industry. Any tips on how to best survive and succeed vs other smart peers?
for those of you who have gotten multiple offers from MBB, which did you choose and why? Looking back would you have done the same
Hello fellow MBB fish! I had a question I am hoping to get insights on. I accepted an offer from McKinsey in NYC and was supposed to start in March, which I now pushed to May.
If you’re a non-MBB consultant without a top GPA or top 10 undergrad, do you basically have 0 chance at HSW? Curious of the profiles of those who made it with these factors.
To those in non-MBB: Would you rather have an offer in hand right now for MBB or FAANG pm? Assume it’s a lateral transition.
Does it bother you that the job market is so faddish? When I left college (pre-crisis) most wanted to work for a bank or MBB. Now all I hear about is FANG (but mostly G) and startups.
My career goal isn’t to make it to MBB or a unicorn or FAANG. It’s to feel fulfilled and challenged as I progress. I can’t be the only one that isn’t title or company chasing.
Hi Eric, thanks so much for taking the time to do this! I used to be a manager at MBB, recently went to industry and don’t like it. How difficult is it in your view to boomerang back to consulting?
MBB? More like DPEK
Hello All, I have a request. Would any folks working at MBB in Toronto be willing to have a quick chat? I am looking to transition into consulting and would like to seek advice and or suggestions about the application process. Thank you.
What pays more at entry level, FAANG biz ops or MBB? What about at the next level (after 2 YOE or so)?
I'm a benefits director at a large company, and we're adding a fertility benefit starting Jan 1. It looks a lot like Deloitte's program (just noticing Deloitte a lot in this bowl), though ours will be slightly more generous with lifetime maxes. I'd love your feedback about what your employers do especially well or poorly, just to ensure we don't have huge blindspots as we roll it out from scratch. Honest feedback from people who are on this journey is appreciated!!
How do you for sure if big 4 is not for you?
Any stats on how many people get past 1st phone screening case interview with McK? Also if it’s phone does it mean no charts?
Anybody have insights into how Apple is doing their virtual on sites right now during the WFH orders? I am in the process of getting my date scheduled and curious what technology they are using.
Anyone from Citi here who could help with a referral for a role. I have the job req ID too. Thanks in Advance
DC to NYC travel. Train or flight?
I have an engineering background, graduated last December, and accepted MBB over FAANG (product design & manufacturing engineering offers) . This bowl’s focus on exiting consulting into FAANG (cont)
Fellow consultants flying Delta, as that annoying hi ho commercial says: "The ones who truly change the world are the ones that can't wait to get out in it"
Interesting read about folks who won’t take vaccines. Lots of different rationales, but they all boil down to people thinking they’re smarter than experts (a common problem in modern America) and a general “you can’t tell me what to do” attitude. https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2021/05/the-people-who-wont-get-the-vaccine/618765/
Taking some time off. Need some book recommendations. Some light interesting non-fiction. No self help or management books. Just interesting topics that won’t make me think about work.
Any recommendations for a portable second monitor? Ideally something that would fit in a carry-on? Since I’m still WFH, I’m taking a week-long trip to visit my sister. We’ll both be working during the week and I’d like to avoid working only from a laptop if I can.
If you filed I-485 are you in status if you quit or are laid off and have enough time to basically find a new job until you get your interview? Im trying to understand what happened in the days when eb based gc didn’t require an interview and someone was laid off
AML consultants: Anyone have CAMS? If so, do you have any study tips? And do you really have to send a copy of your diploma??
Hello AFS folks when will the bonus be discussed and given and what’s the average rate you can expect for a manager who probably checked all boxes ….??Accenture
I joined consulting before covid and really enjoyed the lifestyle (travel, events, socializing, afterworks). I’m young and it was a lot of fun. Now this lifestyle has been gone for two years and the only lifestyle is teams calls. I feel..bored? But bored is not the word. What do y’all do outside of work, during the week? My weekends are fun but my week is just work and teams calls… I’m 22 and I don’t wanna stay at home all day!!!! I wanna see the world
Hello, I am a Software Engineer with 14 months experience and plan to switch to the role of a Product Owner. I've been a part of Scrum teams throughout my tenure as a Software Engineer. I'm doing a course on Business Foundations and plan to take the PSPO certification exam. Are there any other steps that I need to take to make the transition? Also, is the transition at all feasible given my around 1.5 years of work experience?
SEA PAs that you admire the most in terms of “quality of projects - you want” and “leadership know what they are doing in project” => So, you like what you do in relatively sustainable way.
Anyone currently at the Chartis group willing to chat? Hoping to learn more about the projects, culture, etc. Thanks!
