^Big 4 and MBB
I'm wondering if anyone moved between MBB firms? Is it at all possible? What was the rationale and impressions?
Hi! I am looking to pivot to consulting from an accounting and venture capital background. I’m looking to learn more about MBB and other top consulting firms in Canada/ US ( if an H1B sponsorship is possible) and how to pivot into consulting. Is anyone available to chat?
Anyone know much about BizOps at Google? Got their recruiter pitch today and they emphasize that WLB is way better than at MBB - any idea how much truth there is in that?
Would an MBB ever buy firms like LEK or Kearney?
US citizen here, and I would like to move to Europe for a couple of years. What are some big named companies (other than big 4 & MBB) that will sponsor my working visa? I would also like to move early next year. Is that unrealistic though due to COVID? TIA 😊
I'm a young (under 30) SM at Big 4 & like everyone here would like to make the move to MBB. I recognize a title change is likely but I don't care about titles. My question is how to make the change?
For 2020 Taxes was anyone able to take a Home Office Expense deduction while working W2 for MBB or Big 4?
What TC should one expect for a director of Corporate Strategy at a large CPG company in the NYC area? (Think Nestle, P&G, Unilever) Background is former MBB manager + 2 years in tech (non-FAANG)
Serious question: What is the perceived value of a PhD in industry? Have a buddy who is a PhD in Economics at a top 10 who wants to go to industry afterwards. She’s a third year and is debating opting for the Master’s option and going to work or just sticking it out and getting the degree and recruiting MBB with a maybe successful chance. She doesn’t want to be a data scientist or anything that really needs a PhD. I say go work since that’s valued more in industry. Welcome your thoughts.
Anyone at Bain & Company or Boston Consulting Group willing to run through a case (preferably this weekend)? Have a first round with Bain coming up next week and would greatly appreciate the feedback! Have also previously passed first rounds at MBB.
Is MBB still recruiting interns this year? Is there a deadline for application or is it on a rolling basis?
Do you guys at BCG think it would be a smart decision to make a lateral move to PL from Big 4? Have great network and support at current company. The MBB brand, 20k increase in TC, and potential better exit opportunities would be reasons to move. Worried about the challenges of starting from scratch at BCG, proving myself as IC in first few projects, and probably a worse WLB. Would love any insights TIA!
Starting as a GM for a major bikeshare company soon. Will be overseeing more than a dozen markets. Role is very heavy on budgeting , P&L , ridership etc. Will have dozens of managers as direct reports and probably hundreds/thousands indirect. Ultimate aim is to get into MBB as an experienced hire. Would I be considered for an associate role or a consultant if i apply in a year? YOE = 7
FAANG Exit to MBB? 3.5 YOE, Non-technical, 150k TC Been at Alphabet my entire career post-undergrad. Undergrad was a pretty general liberal arts degree and haven’t pursued grad school yet. What would it look like (from a TC + long term career standpoint) to switch over to consulting for a year or two then go back to my non-tech tech lifestyle?
MBB 🐠: what is the business development and internal firm initiatives expectation for associates/consultants or PLs? Is there a percentage you can provide?

Expecting a baby this summer. Should I still be looking for other job opportunities? EY has a very generous paternity leave if you’ve been with the firm for 1+ years, but not sure if I would have the same opportunity to take 2-3 months leave if I switch jobs. Can I potentially work parental leave into negotiations?
Job description says “deal identification and execution” does the identification part mean sourcing/cold calling
People who have A to B conversations in big group zoom calls: do you notice the 20 other people blankly staring at you as you go on and on?
I worked part time during 2L and 3L for a small firm (20h/wk). Does this count toward years of experience, and if so how many?
Will my promo still be updated in the system if I give my 2 weeks notice right before June 1st?
Those of you who work at smaller companies (under 50 employees), would you mind sharing what kind of benefits you receive? How much pto? What’s the contribution to health, dental etc? Do you get any less common benefits? Thank you
What segment do you work in? Seems like the typical sales promotion/career path is going from SMB > Mid Market > Enterprise. Is it the same for sales engineers? Are there any benefits to staying downmarket?
Need 10❤️ to start DM. Please help 🙏🏻
When Wieden + Kennedy says “the work comes first”, how much more seriously do they mean that than the average elite creative agency? Like, I’m at a top-10 agency, but being a human comes first for me. Yes, I have high standards for my work, but not at the expense of my health or happiness. Is everyone at WK genuinely obsessed with their work and do they all live unhealthy, unbalanced lives? Or could someone with a pragmatic view of WLB actually do well there?
Having a really hard time with the current situation taking away an international fellowship I’ve worked tirelessly for 2 years to achieve. No clue what the future holds. Anyone else in the same boat?
Official firm hierarchy, in my experience: 1) Partner 2) Intern 3) Director 4) Senior Manager 5) Manager 6) Associate 7) Senior Associate
