I have an offer from them and so far haven’t been asked for reference. Might be during checks.
That’s a good point. In general, are you expected to provide references once you get an offer, or as soon as you apply? The company I currently work for is my first after uni and, if I were to consider applying elsewhere, would I need to ask for references before actually getting an offer? From what I’ve heard companies usually make your offer conditional on receiving satisfactory references. Might sound silly to some, but it’d be helpful to know. Thanks!

You don't have to provide current job as reference, they will ask for HR contact to confirm you work there, that will not get communicated to your line manager
