Trying to figure out what I want to do with my life is like studying for the CPA Exam: you think real hard for ten minutes and get drunk in frustration when you get nowhere. #ForeverAnAccountant
Do you think it’s worth it to get a masters abroad if my intention is probably to come back and work in the US? I want to go down a career route that focuses on ESG/socially conscious investing and I’m not sure if I should get one of those masters in sustainability that they’re advertising nowadays or go the general MBA route with a concentration in that. I realize I could probably continue without a masters but this would be my career pivot moment. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Wondering if Accenture sponsor for a Master Degree or just MBA? What’s the process for getting tuition reimbursement? 🤔🤔🤫
Is there a downside to proactively reaching out to PE recruiters - e.g. are you viewed as trying too hard? Post-MBA level.
Would it be better to have a 2nd year manager write me a stellar recommendation or an established and respected MD who went to my target MBA write a solid review?
Chances? White female, 3.7 GPA in Biology from top liberal arts college. Collegiate athlete. Have a non MBA masters degree. 3 years consulting experience. I’m M7 or bust, baby!
Thoughts on EMTM (Executive Masters of Science in Technology Management) degrees from top ivies or MIT and Stanford, are they worth it and valuable if not competitive against EMBA and MBA holders from these schools in consulting for moving up?
Quick thanks to everyone posting their credentials /background. Not ready to apply to MBA yet but it’s a learning tool for me on what programs are best suited for me and what it takes to get there. Best of luck to those applying this round
Is 30 too late to transition into investment banking from an MBA program? Will all of the other associates be a lot younger?
Anyone try to exit into a PM role at a tech firm? How are you approaching it? I'm moving to a PM role at an insurance company and then will try for PM at a tech firm... might just do an MBA tho...
I’m an experienced consultant, 31, without an MBA. Are there good books you’d recommend that give the basic principles of what one would learn in an MBA? Want to fill in basic gaps in knowledge
Just got an offer to a Fortune 100 company in FP&A with 1 year of B4 experience. The position wanted 4-5 years and an MBA was preferred. If you want out of B4 leave whenever you want being miserable for another couple years won’t help that much!
What do you think about Oxbridge MBA? Considering it because I'm based in London but not sure about how they'd hold up outside of the UK
Is the applicant lab sanity check worth it? For anyone who has purchased it, what kind of feedback do they provide on your resume and career goals/why mba sections of the modal?
What options would a MBA consultant have if they don't get an h1b visa and OPT expires? Any alternatives to transferring to another country?
KPMG Strategy Director Discussing a potential opportunity about a Strategy Director role with KPMG. I got 10-year experience in consulting. Non-MBA. What salary should I aim for? Thank you!
Cannot focus for the life of me at work in lieu of the holidays (and while interviewing for another job). Haven’t done actual work in about a month. My team is starting to really notice and I am...
I’ve accepted an offer at ACN but my current employer just put me on a project that is boring. I want to put my 2 weeks in and take my vacation but ACN hasn’t called to officially (contd)
From talking to students at multiple M7 schools, it seems like all of the BB/MBB/FAANG companies recruit at most if not all of the schools . So if you're planning on recruiting for one of these, is there really a major difference in career opportunities between each school? Asking because it seems like some schools are specifically known for finance vs consulting vs tech, but if the companies are all recruiting at all these schools, the differences don't seem as pronounced to me.
Building off a thread from a few days ago on how long you waited to consultant an RE. If I am under 35 and have not been trying for 12 months, do I need to spin it to my doctor like I have? It seems bad to not give my doc the real info but I also don’t want to be turned away and I think I’ve heard you have to tell them it’s been 12 mo to get insurance to cover it. Any insight?
Last day in Deloitte: 14th June. First day in next company: 24th June. Is it an issue from H1B perspective given I will be unemployed for a week?
Is it possible for someone to make a jump from Exp. Associate at PwC to Senior Consultant at other Big 4?
Have an offer from Accenture for the Manager position in Consulting. Position pays about 35K more than current IBM salary but working to get next promotion at current company w/n the year. Thoughts?
PWC peeps... how important are snapshots for promotion. Mine are so all over the place from a partner giving me high praise but the next one a director saying at level. It's BS.
I work in healthcare and have severe hypochondria. I feel like my passion is damaging my mental health.
Promotion to senior after 1 yr is pure BS. Why do firms do this? One year is not enough to expose one to enough variety and develop expertise to review and teach others. Encouraging mediocrity?!
Confused about vacation/sick/additional days off. Is there a number I can call for explanation or a online chat?
After getting laid off 2 weeks ago, I fired off about 20 resumes to different places. I have not received any feedback at all. Any ideas how to get past the computer and in front of someone?
