I just went through this, where I resigned for another firm and my team didn’t see it coming. Don’t worry, they’ll get through it. Give as much notice as you can (after you have your new offer in hand) and make sure you work hard to transition so your team is in a good place after you’re gone. Leave on a good note, try not to slack off at the end. The last 2 weeks are usually really busy as you’re managing HR activities in addition to transitioning your role.
It’s a really small 🌍. Leave a good impression on your way out.
Depends, if they’re not horrible people and you don’t want them to crash and burn then I would start finding ways to transition responsibilities
Or just put a sticky note on the wall in the office that says “gone to raise llamas” and use up any PTO you have left

M2 has it EXACTLY right. Do your best to leave on a high note, and to avoid burning bridges. Scaling back effort or performance before you leave is the exact opposite of what you should do.
