OP it’s not worth it at all as it’s not any more convenient than just using the dedicated platinum line. Save the $200...
@accenture but don’t you think next year due to the enhanced qualifications to make platinum with ambassador it’ll be somewhat reduced?
@accenture and I’m really ignorant to all this so I’m not even sure it’s harder. Just know the spend plus stays makes it harder if you achieved just on stays in prior years
Yes, it does. And I would say if you don’t mind eating room service food, then do it. It can’t hurt. If you are appalled by the food and can’t hit the $200 mark, the service has gone some in quality for about 70% of its users. Many people have felt the service is only worth about $200. Basically, if you travel to big cities mostly, the new spend limit doesn’t change anything on your priority. But if you mix big and little cities, you will be the top of the pile when you get to those smaller cities. I honestly think the spend limit is only going to cut out a handful of people and those that used the credit card nights to hit the 100 nights
OP what do you think an Ambassador will add for you? They’re mostly there to help you book stays and sometimes they’ll do something nice for you. But as D1 said the value is low overall. I’ve found being friendly with hotel receptionists or customer reps gets you much more than an Ambassador can provide and it’s free.
Since the current platinum help desk is so terrible, I would pay an extra $200 for Ambassador. I don’t think they’re going to do anything to wow (in fact I know they won’t since I’ve been one for the past 5 years) but when I’m missing points or stays I can quickly get it resolved.
