I’m thinking of transitioning into consulting (later this year). However, I just received an offer from my current firm’s competitor for good comp benefits. My main hesitation is I’m targeting this fall to start applying for consulting jobs so how would it reflect on my application if i’ve only been with my (then) current firm for only a few months?

Senior leadership only contacts me when something is needed while giving no support/mentorship . last year I go on 4 month maternity leave.
