That is such a broad question and different fields. If you want to know if you like it, start with something very simple. Buy a $10 course from udemy and finish it. See if coding is for you and then you can come back with a narrower question.

Okay so I know what I wanna do I’m just not sure how to explain it. I’m pretty much interested in cyber security & making people’s data remain private. Basically like a server that gets accessed as a web application that I won’t have access to as a company, only the user would be able to see their data & it’d be encrypted. Also educating people on how to protect their data, leading to people being able to have specific companies rent their data from the person & be able to advertise to them. I plan to use this as a stream of income as side from the opportunities this will allow to be invest. I do also have some frontend experience & in the process of learning vanilla JavaScript at the moment so doing frontend design was is basically my fallback if anything

Hey FishBowl Friends, so I’m currently trying to break into tech sales/FinTech and I feel that due to my previous work history, I might not look like the ideal candidate on paper but I’m an extremely fast learner and very coachable. I’ve been a manger at a gym, got my degree in finance, worked as a client advisor at a top 3 auto dealer in the nation and now I’m a project manager at a solar company. I really want something that’s remote and steady, any recommendations on how to spruce myself up?

If anyone else is studying, let me know and maybe we can share study materials!

For those who have taken it, are there any cheaper or alternative study materials to any official guides you would recommend? I went this route with the PHR and SHRM-SCP and passed each on the both try, so I wanted to see if that method may be viable here. Any recommended order to take courses in?

looking for some advice! I’m coming up on my 1 year at the company I work for. I am a General Manager of a mid-sized lodge, I manage about 12-15 employees and have no assistant manager. By flexible I mean in terms of moving between positions, companies and technologies.

Has anyone read any interesting books on how to approach QA?

On my team, software engineers end up creating test cases by writing up step-by-step guides for each ticket. QA employees follow these and innovate them where they can - but they ultimately need SEs to provide them A LOT.

This process seems dumb - the test cases disappear after the ticket is completed and I feel like QA isn't much of a professional role if they just follow guides provided to them.

Is there a better way?

So I recently found out that my current company is underpaying me. And by that I mean that literally any other company is willing to pay me 15-20k more than what I make now. I don't necessarily mind it, but I'm starting to feel like I'm being taken advantage of. Is it reasonable for me to ask for a raise? Or do I go somewhere else?
