Does switching to a similar role at another firm typically create a delay for getting promoted? For example, Associate to Senior Associate on my current team almost always takes 2 years on the dot (give or take a month). If after 1 year I switched to a similar role at a competing firm, could I still expect to get promoted after another 1 year, or does switching firms usually cause it to take longer?

Hello guys, I am a ML Engineer by profession and have recently heard about the AI Centre of Excellence at TCS.

I've that the COE team is supposed to guide TCS employees on client end. However, I've also heard that as they do not generate any profits, TCS moves them to client side as soon as possible.

Could anyone please share some insights about work at the AI COE at TCS? How's the team and how's overall growth in terms of skills and payscale? Are there any drawbacks of joining AI COE?

I am seeking new employment, I was recently laid off due to lack of work. I would very much appreciate any leads. I have a Bs in Construction Management and over 15 years experience with Revit and AutoCAD and 7 years of plumbing design. I have solid references and impeccable work ethic. I truly enjoy what I do. I’m unsure if they’re planning to fill that vacant role. I know this is a sensitive topic as she gives me cases. I have a great professional and personal rapport with her. Any tips?

Hi everyone, current job has obnoxiously long notice period and they won’t let me leave for health reasons. Wondering what my options are if there are any? I never signed a contract for my second year in and definitely did not have an opportunity to renegotiate my terms for my second year at the job. Need some advice.
I got the highest offer from LnT worth 17, but I can try for some more comapnies and get higher offers.
But ,I also want to retain in capgemini if they match the package.
Should I stop interviews & approach my manager or should I wait for him to call me again ? He had already called once saying he would match the package.
Am I being too greedy if I ask for 18/19 to retain?Or should I just ask for 17 so that repport between me and my manager remains intact?

I think I made a faux pas during a discussion with a recruiter when asked what my salary expectations were. I KNOW not to give my number first but I was so caught off guard by the question since it was our initial discussion that I just blurted out a range.
