Looking to make the switch from M&A Consulting at a Big 4 to IB in the next few months. I have CPA / accounting background along with recent M&A experience. My biggest concern is not knowing how to build a model from scratch. Any tips on resources to learn these skills / do most MM firms even make you build a model during interviews?

I had to decline a first round interview after resume submission with another Big 4 because I wanted to talk with my current employer first + had some relocation issues/decisions to deal with. Depending on how the conversation with my current firm goes, I would like to move on. How long would i have to wait to submit resume to the same team/company, and would they even reconsider me? I am a Senior Manager at KPMG, about to be offered a Senior Manager role at Deloitte. Consultant with 9 years of Big 4 experience.

How much should I negotiate for base salary?

I was recently promoted from Senior to Supervising Senior and received a 42% pay increase bringing me to $105k. I have roughly 10 years of experience, 5.5 of those years in the Big 4. The reason I am still at the Senior level is because I took a break from IT Audit from 2018-2021, with this considered I still feel like $105k is low for my level of experience, based on a lot of the compensation comments in this bowl. My locale is Austin, TX so also a high cost of living. Any thoughts?
