It gets easier mama! I cried a lot after I went back to work with my first. I literally felt like I was leaving my arm at daycare and just could not understand how I was supposed to go about my day. Around 1 he started really loving school and I could tell he was so excited to go. Then our oldest became a toddler and I had a second kid and realized I’m a lot better mom when I also have a career.
That's so nice to hear. I've cried 3 times today 🙈

Being away from your kid for 8-9 hours at a time does get better. Working 70+ hours per week and having people want to take early morning and evening calls that conflict with your family time does not really get better other than if you really put your foot down and learn to accept the consequences. Four day a week travel also does not get better but I am hoping post covid we have more flexibility on that

Remember that a happy mom makes for a happy child. You love your job, and that’s not a bad thing at all! It’s completely okay for you to work and send your kid to daycare - I’m sure he’s having a great time there!
It took a couple months, but eventually when we pulled up to daycare drop off, my son got very happy and couldn’t wait to run inside. It made me feel *so good* knowing that he was enjoying himself while I was working. There’s only so much I can give him as a mom - the professionals really let him learn and thrive in different ways than I can at home when it’s just us. Hang in there - it gets better!
