Does West Monroe Partners M&A only do tech due diligence? Also, what is the career trajectory of doing just TDD vs experience in commercial DD? CDD sounds more interesting but not sure yet.

Thinking of going back to public accounting. 3 years real estate tax/audit experience. 2 years SEC / PCAOB experience. Currently a manager at a pre-ipo company. Getting a little pessimistic about my future at current company. Seen more of a cost rather than a profit center. Any one experience the same? I miss being around people I can actually learn from and collaborate with.
My baby is 3 months and I am just returning back to work. My partner and I plan to watch him while working from home. Curious to know when did other mommas enroll baby in daycare or hire a nanny? We are planning to hold off as long as possible but know it might be difficult to juggle after a certain point.
Nylons. Do I really need them? I freaking hate them and they seem dated. But also, my legs are kind of pasty and not amazingly toned. I still want to dump every pair. Thoughts? Reasonable alternatives?
Additional Posts in Consulting
Got laid off last week. Posts on LinkedIn show that it was probably a bad week for a bunch of people. How difficult is it to get a job these days on H1b? I have a solid supply chain background. Any leads appreciated.
Have new analyst on the team with an MBA and project experience. After working with them for 2 months it’s apparent that there are 0 consulting skills (excel, outlook, PowerPoint) and they freeze up even on internal calls. They are young and coachable, and I offered to put time into that. However at a company event they made no effort to get to know the team and chose to stick to their familiar colleagues in their home office. I’d like to ask for a new resource but interested in feedback.

Tech diligence is our bread and butter (mostly software and corporate systems), but also do functional, commercial analytics (if you're a data scientist type) and operational / digital diligence - those are our emerging areas. 10% of our deals are sell-side, which could involve any of the scopes above. We don't do classic commercial diligence.
Thanks for these answers! They're really helpful. I'm still brainstorming where I want to go a couple years out doing consulting. Do you know what kind of exits people go into? You mentioned PE/corp strategy - how common are those vs continuing in consulting or other paths?
Yes, 90% is IT DD and post close work. Not many exits unless you switch firms. CDD is much more attractive (and competitive) M&A work.
Eh, I disagree EC1. We've had quite a few ppl exit to corporate strategy or PE roles. Part of it depends on where you specialize as you progress - as a campus hire / consultant you'll likely do a mix of both diligence and post close. I don't think you have to worry about being pigeonholed too quickly.
That said, if CDD is your top interest, we're not your best choice!
Best end spot would be vista
No I just know they have their own consulting firm that does TDD. In all honesty unless you love tech I would not do TDD it’s very technical and a lot less strategy
