We are exploring having a third party come in and assess our I&D efforts across our company. We have many locations across North America. Is anyone aware of an entity who does this? We have found questionnaires through target organizations and have done anonymous employee surveys but are hoping to find someone who can do an assessment for gender, minorities, disabilities, 2SLGBTQ+, etc. and provide feedback on the actual employee experience and where we may have blind spots.

Thinking about moving to a big city with the following preferences. I am thinking about Dallas, philly, or Chicago. What’s your experience living in those cities? Is there any other city I am missing?
1. Growing economy and population
2. Great food scene and things to do as a young professional
3. Relative LCOL can’t afford housing in NY, SoCal, etc.
4. Diversity of culture especially a bigger Chinese presence

How do I transition from a Senior Executive Assistant role to Project Management? Ideally I would like to work in tech. How should I go about this? I currently work in the Real estate industry so it would be a totally new career path. The reason I want to move into tech is I feel like many of the companies I see have the same values as me (diversity & inclusion) and a good culture is so important to me.

Has anyone bought/ done the HRCI Certificate in Diversity and Inclusion in HR Management? I already have my PHR, but I’m looking to gain more knowledge/skills and beef up my resume. Is it worth doing? The course is $239 and you get 12 Recert credits with it.

My company is in need of a update online, could use your opinions! We need to better showcase our culture (caring, supportive, fun, intelligent IT industry leaders) as well as diversity. We are predominantly white still but making strides to improve here. What’s the best way to approach? I don’t want to seem disingenuous or that we are singling out our diverse employees (asking for photos). We have a remote and on-site workforce about 350+ EEs. Non white EEs make up about 35% of the company rn.

Latinx - help! We used this term in our diversity spotlight discussing Hispanic Heritage Month. One individual said that in English a group of Latinos would just be Latins to be gender neutral. I understand the word is controversial but is “Latins” grammatically correct? I assume we should just say Latin Americans, but trying to understand if Latins is also accurate.

I’ve been helping couples navigate the challenges of infertility for over 20 years now. Recently, I’ve noticed more couples feeling apprehensive to continue treatment because they are worried about potential repercussions if they miscarry during the IVF process. Honestly, I’m not sure how to reassure them because I also feel afraid, but I just want to continue supporting these wonderful couples & families. Chicago attorneys: know anyone who does financial planning for those in big law? 1st gen attorney and I admit I know damn near nothing about my finances beyond what my mom taught me which is keep a $20 in my wallet.

Does your firm consider Asian Americans to be POC for purposes of partnership promotions, etc.? I have multiple times now been purposefully staffed with other POC (non-Asian) attorneys and have been told to staff juniors who are women. I don’t mind this, of course, but it honestly feels like they don’t consider me an “actual” minority and that it’s not enough. If there is, e.g., a black attorney and a partner on a team, this never comes up.

I was recently in consideration for a promotion but got passed over. I was told , in confidence, that I viewed as less serious about the role because I teleworked while colleagues were getting back to the office. That was viewed by senior leaders as being less serious about the job.
