Does working from home really worth it?

I've been WFH for 11 years and it's a requirement for any new jobs I've considered since. Not having the work distractions allows me to be more productive and not having the commute is less stressful, less expensive, and allows me more time at home and to get "life" done.

Wowww 11 good years. You don’t work on site at all?

For me, yes! I absolutely love the flexibility that comes with WFH! 😎

I definitely love the comfortability, but with kids sometimes is not so easy

Do you like peace and no nagging co workers?

Absolutely, but if I have any nagging co working I just ignore them.

As much as I enjoy working from home, I still feel people work more effectively when they are in the office

Ummm, that’s debatable.

The luxury of staying home don’t have to spend money on transport, especially going out in winter

Lol… I can imagine, I will probably enjoy it more this winter.

100% especially if you have kids and needs to juggle personal life. We don’t have policy saying we must be in office twice a week or something like many big organisations who is now forcing staff back in office, we want to be in office and interact with colleagues by choice but we also have the ability to WFH or wherever we like, what ever make us do our best work.

No travel. Easy to concentrate. I can roll out of bed and start working!!

Also personally, it’s super helpful to not be so so concerned about the social aspects of an office, my clothes, how my hair looks, if I’m sweaty, if I’m hungry. I can make sure I look good above the waist from the front before I jump on camera (which is pretty frequent) but the rest of the day it’s great to not have that extra stress.

Hi i am about to join mastercard advisors team. Wanted to know what's the min experience requirement for grade 7 over there? Also, i have heard they have asked employees to come to office. Is this flexible like we can chose our dates or will it be fixed by our leader? and if we don't want to come can we take WFH? How much flexible are they with employees taking WFH?

Also have heard that there are travel opportunities over here. Is this true and what location and how frequent?

Hi! Anybody knows of federal agencies hiring that are offering fulltime telework/remote?
I currently work for an agency based in DC and my boss is forcing us to come back into the office fulltime after we’ve been remote for nearly two years. Majority of my coworkers have already left for the private sector but I’d like to remain in the public.

Hi All, I've offer from TheMathCompany Inc
Impetus technologies inc

Trying to decide if I should buy some wfh stuff during Black Friday sales. Have recent new hires got a $500 “productivity” stipend, if so, what can it be used on? Also just to confirm this is separate than the wellness subsidy? Tried doing a search but didn’t see anything clear.

How is the WFH policy at TIAA.
1) Have they started calling back people to office?
2) Once the office resumes do we have the flexibility to WFH if we like?

What are your firms/companies doing when general offices are permitted to open up next Monday? Are they opening? And if so, what measures are they implementing? Or are they continue to allow WFH?

Who works remote here? Have you made the switch from a late coffee break to a glass of wine yet? 🤣

So I got a raise at work but only 1.75 percent, b.c It was pro rated although I have an excellent rating, which is still less than inflation. Already asked my boss to match the market many times, but he always ignored me. Should I leave for a better offer if available?

32F, recently diagnosed, currently writing a doctoral dissertation and will be joining consulting in . Had doubts about taking medication. But I first had a 10 mg Adderall yesterday and worked on my dissertation for 17 hours.

I've been dragging writing this dissertation FOREVER (data collected back in 2018). In the past 5 years I’ve been a doctoral student , I have never focused on writing for more than 3 hours a day. I think I can finish this eventually.
