I interviewed with Firm A months ago and accepted a position to start this upcoming fall. Group leader called me to offer the position back in November 2020. Besides interviewing with partners at the firms, and diligent follow ups notifying them of my interest to get started, no communication has transpired since.It turns out that I accepted a better offer w/ Firm B for personal reasons and won’t be going to Firm A. What is the best way to notify Firm A? Call/email group leader? Call/email HR?
I hate this job. That is all.

I’ve turned my status off. It’s a constant white dot. I’m reasonably responsive and have good hours and no one has ever said anything to me about it.
The partner at my old firm did this. So before I quit I just stopped logging into Skype (he did comment on that I just said the program was too glitchy).
No. I doubt the partners even know how. I might check a peer’s status to see if they are available before I call, but otherwise no one sane uses those indicators.
My partner regularly stops by soon after I open Skype in the morning. Seems like he’s watching

My boss monitors the amount of time I record. Why would it matter how late or early I work?

If your boss has time to check on this, they shouldn’t be a biglaw partner. If this is some admin person “boss”, the admin people work for the attorneys, make sure the partners like you and you should be OK.
