Does your company support PhDs? What are usually the terms of the agreement? Thanks

We do (IP law firm here) - but there is an agreement about coming to work for us once completed etc. It's useful for us, and we don't support the entire PhD but try to help with some funding etc

Thats awesome. I really wish my company did this.

In the companies that I have worked for, I haven't heard about it. The only thing they would do is to have some tuition reimbursement.

More like encourage. Some of my co-workers get PhDs for purposes of promotion. Other than that, it's basically not worth it.

PhD in our company is a matter of preference for the employee. They do support employee's initiative for career advancement but they do not engage in any monetary help.

I recently left a company because I didn’t see eye to eye with management about recruitment. The company I worked for regularly touts its commitment to D&I but in the recruitment process my candidates were routinely exited for having natural hair, being too old, too “urban”, etc. I’m not looking to bitterly blow up their spot but I feel like someone needs to be aware of this.
