We get the 4th and 5th of as paid holidays, then we are expected to use vacation or personal time for the 1-3. So the US firm has the whole “week off” but some see it as forced use of vacation. I like it because it gives my entire team a well-deserved break at the same time, and no one has to worry about emails coming in and interrupting the time off
Can confirm PwC is whole week, that said this is only the second year of this policy, and technically it is not confirmed by leadership until around January if I recall correctly. So in the event the firm was having a weak year I’d fully expect us to only get the day of off.
Last year was the first time we got the whole week. In previous years they’ve given an additional 1-2 days to make a long weekend. Source: just hit my 5 year anniversary
Nope
Deloitte is off on 4th and 5th. EY is full week off
EY forces first 3 days as PTO
We just get the 5th and 3rd is half day
Just the day of
4th and 5th here
The week between Christmas and New Years
Wait are there firms that do this without forcing PTO?
Yeah forced PTO is 100% trash
pwc has given whole week off and it’s not forced PTO
You can choose to use your two floating holidays instead of pto
What the hell is forced PTO? I thought that is only for week at the end of year.
Interesting. Must be a fixed bid. Never faced this issue on T&E. Even with fixed price, this shit is not motivating. Just charge unassigned time or training.
No, just the day and if the client has the following day- forced PTO (Capgemini). I’ve heard PwC has the week off from a friend
We make every effort to fully shut down. Clients are told and it’s really been actual time off
Just the day of...
Not at Slalom
Wait at Accenture we have to work the Friday after July 4th?!

4th and 5th. I'm taking the 3rd off too.
Just the day but if it falls on the weekend they give either the work day before or after the holiday weekend
GT is off July 4th & 5th.
Protiviti is off 4th and 5th
PwC has the whole week
Half day on Wednesday and Thursday and Friday off.
