Hi fishes,
Anyone joined coforge recently? Any reviews for the same? Is it worth to join this organisation? They told me they are hiring for Santander bank account but still be having client interview before onboarding to project. Any idea on this account? Is it tough to crack client interview over there? Don't want to face long bench hours like it used to be in Publicis sapient which led to brutal lay off. Kinda sceptical to join as it is giving me Publicis sapient vibes.Coforge Coforge ltd

Staffers find people for MDs, not projects for you. But yes, every firm I've been to has one
I’m reading this forum and can’t help but laugh at how piss poor IBM is at staffing talent. When i first started at the firm, nobody helped you get staffed and you had to call random partners in your practice talking about your skills in order to *try* and get staffed. Glad to see this isn’t the case elsewhere though.
Based on the posts from others, the consensus is that many firms in consulting (including IBM) have people that work on staffing consultants. Also part of the consensus from the posts is that network trumps staffing professionals. It's definitely tougher for new hires who lack the contacts. I think that sentiment is the same across the board

Most firms (big 4) have staffers. However, it’s always better to have a PPMD/SM/M bring you into their project. PPMDs want to staff their projects with people they think are the best too. So usually the projects that have resource management finding people are the “body shop” type projects. Much smaller chance of getting a cool exciting project from a staffer (depending on your outlook) because those projects would be staffed via the partners network without ever reaching a resource manager.
That’s really good context to keep in mind - I just started and with COVID maintaining a new digital relationship has been tough. Trying to make sure I keep in touch with managers from old projects but can’t keep comparing myself to peers who have years of experience with partners and SMs
OW has a “talent management” team. You *can* build your own relationships and find your own opportunities, but if you don’t, it doesn’t mean you’re automatically on the beach. If there are roles to be had, TM will play broker.
Project sold > RMs find who happens to be available at that time regardless of any related subject matter background or experience > congrats you’re staffed!
Every firm has staffing managers . In every firm it is difficult for new entrants to get projects through that channel . Eventually you build a network and get staffed through that . That’s how the entire industry works - if Partners know you , they will pull you in and protect you when you are on bench .
I have worked at IBM and some of our competitors - the frustration is the same everywhere if you don’t have a network
