I'm on vacation, completely removed for the daily hustle; enjoying my time off. My wife called with an urgent request: she needs help with a deck that's due on Friday.
ACN ALSS Technology Consultant 135k, no sign on bonus, 23 days PTO with enough months at level to get promoted in December. How is the group?
PwC 🐠, can you not roll over vacation days? What's this with losing holiday time by June 30? Please help me understand- how do you know if you have holiday balance? Thus isn't different from vacation
Some of my peers who are going for promotion got the call from our RP last week when I was on vacation. I haven't heat anything yet last/this week, does it mean I didn't get it? :/
How is PTO taxed when you leave the firm?
Used to spend all my weekends with this guy I was seeing last year. Things have been so rocky this year, we barely meet. He wants to take some time off and concentrate on himself and being more active before committing to anything. He has literally filled all his weekends with sports and meetups there after. He tells me about everything he does honestly but I can’t help but feel replaced.
If I put in my two weeks notice, can I just not come into work some days? They can’t do anything if I’m already quitting right? I assume it’d come out of my PTO
EY - ladies, what to wear to the holiday party?!
If I'm forced to use my vacation, floater, etc. towards my study leave for CFE but I have vacation booked for right after CFE, will PwC still let me take that vacation as a "leave of absence"?
What is a standard amount personal paid of time off in consulting (excluding national holidays)? Asking in days per year. Current offer is for 10 but that’s less than my old firm. However this is my first job switch so I’m not sure what’s considered average.
Which agency offers the most time off?
Anyone know if companies are doing virtual holiday parties and if so, what are they doing? I’m tasked with planning mine, but if I have to sit on another awkward zoom happy hour I might just explode. Open to suggestions or ideas. My team is spread out internationally, so even sending a stupid “swag” gift is next to impossible.
My fiancé’s family has a vacation planned at the end of June in Florida (small beach town about 45 mins from PCB). We’d be flying from California if we decide to attend. His family doesn’t seem concerned (ugh whole other story) and the “rules” in Florida are relatively relaxed now (restaurants open etc). I want to go for sanity reasons, but feel like it seems foolish too. What would y’all do? Just wait and see?
Anyone ever negotiated parental leave before? I have an offer on the table. Gave me what I asked for $ wise and PTO. But mat leave is not great. Not trying to have a baby now, but in the next 5 yrs.
Anyone have mandatory PTO during the holidays? Our leadership is making us use PTO days if we don't have billable work between Xmas & NYE. I don't even celebrate Xmas, kind of annoyed
Going to be in Madrid for the next 4 days on vacation. Any recommendations?? Used points so will be staying at the Westin Palace Madrid.
I hope this administration implements Federal parental leave. I don't understand how and why we still tout ourselves as the greatest country in the world, and we don't even have basic paid parental leave.
Am I the only one that thinks that members of Congress should be paid the median salary of their state? They are supposed to be a representative example of their constituents, so feel that it’s only fair.
Thinking about leaving Big 4 Tax to join Andersen Tax. Has anyone made the same move? Would you recommend?
EY 🐠- interviewing for a cyber role in the commercial practice with 5 years of experience. Ideas on target comp?
Staff 2, Just got over 40% increase in salary and a signing bonus to industry . Shoutout to everyone in this bowl for the interview and resume help. Love you all!
In discussions with an Infra fund ($1bn+AUM) to come across and lead their origination across the US (think director / VP type level). Any thoughts on Comp expectations at infra funds? I’d take a lower base for more carry/equity but really have no idea where to start. Have post graduate degree and 10 YOE in the infra space both consulting and operational.
What metrics do you use to gauge your health? Don’t see a doc nearly enough and given the lifestyle curious to know what folks track
Question for current moms - did you lose weight to or before getting pregnant? Were you able to maintain a manageable weight? Not pregnant yet but so scared of gaining too much and having long term health issues due to weight gain.
I was hired as a client service associate, and had to get the SIE and S7 certifications to secure my employment, been here for a year now and really want to be part of the business aspect. I’ve ended up being stuck at the front answering calls, cleaning up the conference room and babysitting the office while the FAs go on conferences and have big meetings. I really want to be part of it more and have a seat at the table. Any advice for how to take me career development into my own hands?
Considering applying to Jackson Lewis. How much could I expect to make as a 8th year? What's the work life balance like? While expected billables on paper are 1850, what's the actual billables they expect you to bill?
Any insight into comp for a management rotational program? Is this something someone can do later in their career or generally for those starting off?
Got interviewed in top companies through third party recruiters and now waiting for final decision & offer from all 3. But my goal is to get full time role which is hard due to my OPT status. Advice?
How's FIS Global Pune work culture? I have 3.6 YoE in Automation Testing. Should I join FIS?
Best Marriott in Boston? Ideally cat 5 or 6. Headed up there for a weekend to be touristy with the gf.
AMDs - what were the biggest challenges you faced when you moved up to this position? Overall, is it that much different from being a manager/supervisor?
Moms, I have a 2 year old and a 3 month old. Everyone on my family is vaccinated. What are safe activities to do with these kiddos in the midst of all this covid variant environment. I thought about the pumpkin patch, hiking, the park, and walks as long as we distance from others. I just get nervous about catching colds or a breakthrough covid infection. I’m not paranoid, just risk averse. The whole family got the TSV bug a month ago, and it was miserable. Just trying to be practical, but not a
