Just got my payout of the pathways to parenthood benefit at EY. Took over 12 weeks and only got thru by escalating and chasing multiple times per week over the last two months. Glad to have the benefit but frustrating it was so challenging.
Can any one refer me in IBM for role of Test Automation. Have applied from portal but no reply
Anyone here moved from EY to Accenture? Curious to know how was the shift, pros and cons for each company, any regrets? Waiting for an offer from Accenture but very conflicted on whether I should leave EY. Been there all my career and going to be a big jump.

In house editors at agencies, do you ever get to do good, public facing work? Or does that always go to vendors?
If leaves are credited at the end of each month and CLs expire after the month of December, How do we avail the December's accrued CL ?
Also, my PLs will be less than 15 by the end of Dec 22, will they still be encashed? And in which month's salary they're credited? Is tax levied on them?

About a year ago I took a job closer to home (7.5miles). My previous position is about 50miles away, but I worked there for 11.5 years. I am really thinking about leaving and going back to my previous position. I absolutely HATE my job now. It gives me panic attacks thinking about it. I’ve had to change my anxiety meds and increase dose. Yes my old job is an hour away, but I was so much happier and less BS I had to deal with there. Do y’all think it’s a good idea to take a job with more commute?

Should I consider transitioning to Tech? I’m a project engineer at a solar company making 75K and I’m wondering if I’ll ever be able to crack 6 figures working in this industry. I have a physics degree from undergrad and a master’s in mechanical engineering. I’m welcome to any thoughts.
Do Partners know in details environment on their teams and what every person thinks about the team? How you gather such info? One partner told me: “You will be surprised how much we know”
How do you measure bench strength?

So I got 2 offers, 1 at a well-known firm (that I previously worked at, not as an atty) that offered 80K plus full benefits (100% health coverage, PTO, sick days, discretionary bonus & 1800 billable req.) Their a little old school in their methods but I do see the younger gen. coming in to make changes. 2nd offer is at a newer firm however i’ve heard great things, and they offered 80k, unl. PTO, 1500 billable hours, bonus incentives qrtrly, & 50% health ins. WHY can’t I make a decision? HELP
I’m an associate at a boutique law firm working on complex litigation and regulatory matters. I’ve worked at the same firm as a summer associate and the last three years directly after graduation. I’m worried that I’m not getting enough “practical” experience. I haven’t taken a deposition, only attended two oral arguments, and tend to write parts of briefs or motions but never in their entirety. (Continued in comments)
Is there a best day to give notice? I’ve been waiting for my conflicts to clear and had been hoping it would be on Friday but probably won’t be until Monday now. I’ve always heard Friday is the better day. Not looking forward to it as I think the partner I work for will be upset given the case load I handle, so I’d like to make it as respectful a process as possible.
Has anyone here ever set their linked in to “open to finding a new job” and got busted by their current firm? Is doing that a risky click?
Attorneys who do not really have prestigious jobs out of school how do you deal with a shame?
How long do you wait to send follow-up email if you didn't get a response? I read somewhere that if you don't hear back within 48 hours you wont hear from them at all. Is that the case in your experience?
Hate hate hate when a firm markets various areas of practice, brings me in for an interview from a vague Jon posting, then says it’s insurance defense at the interview.
Hi, everyone. Wondering if you can help me?… The Partner at my firm is asking me for a list of Plaintiff law firm conferences. I used to work for the Defense, so I know about all of those conferences but I’m really stumped as to how to find the Plaintiff side conferences. We mainly do class action and mass tort. Any advice for me as to how to find them? Know of any? Thank you so much!
I am at a very small firm (<10 attorneys) and am “interviewing” with a larger firm. Considering partner and counsel roles. Beyond compensation structure, billable requirements, and partnership expectations, what questions should I ask? If considering partner position, what is fair to ask about their books?
I did not meet my billable budget. I’m a 1st year and around mid October realized I was going to have to bill 8-9 hours a day before the end of this month to meet my budget, and planned to. However, my dad passed mid October which caused me to take time off. I’m about 200 hours behind, though. My boss said not to worry about it as they are understanding about me needing to take time off, but I’m still worried that this looks really bad…
How much do you rely on your para? I’m in my 30s and pretty computer literate, I don’t dictate, I like doing research etc. I know other attorneys that have their paras do all their discovery, all their research, all their motions and I wonder how it’s possible to hit billables if someone else is doing the majority of your work? Seems crazy to me.
Drowning. Joined firm last summer, brought a decent little book, primarily litigation associate. I’ve been buried in numerous matters from my transferring clients and matters at my new, small-ish firm. I get consistently favorable results, im in the office all week, manage all my cases independently. After 6 months, just told billables are too low, turnaround time is too high, and theyre concerned about my fit. I feel like I’ve just been launched into a bunch of matters with little/no guidance.
Recently started as a plaintiffs lawyer. Pretty good handle on the law, but first time negotiating settlements. Any advice here? Would love input from other plaintiffs attorneys on what works and defense lawyers as well. Thanks in advance!
As much as a despise Trump, I can’t help but being deeply concerned about Twitters move to permanently ban Trump. I would really like to open a discussion (hopefully, a respectful one) regarding the implications of this... is this move a net negative or positive?
Partner at an ID firm. I bill 2000 per year. I get stuck doing this crappy flat fee work. The flat fee cases are such a time suck and my firm charges way too little for the time they take. So these flat fee cases really hurts my ability to generate as much profit as others. Anyway to approach this????
I had a break down in law school. I was briefly hospitalized and missed part of a semester. I feel guilty about it. I have issues, but looking back a lot of it was a combination of my existing alcohol use, depression, and immaturity. I have flashes of memories of me begging to be hospitalized because I felt so sad and afraid of failure. I don't know why I acted that way,. I don't like that person, and it's hard for me to imagine a world where I find peace despite my terrible behavior. Cont
