Does your job email a bunch of hoorah emails congratulating reps on sales? It just becomes a bit annoying and demotivating especially when it’s the same person at times.

Yup, we get the emails as well. I honestly just ignore them now. I guess they're supposed to be serving as motivation? But, nope not for me!

Yep and they all get filtered into a nice little folder in my email that skips right past my inbox. Not trying to rain on other peoples parades, but also not trying to wade through everyone's individual congrats emails in my inbox.

Yes. Theres too many. I get it, some people really value recognition. However, there are way too many emails.

We have a huge group chat where orders over a certain amount get announced and congratulated. I totally get that some huge orders take a lot of work and effort to pull in, but it does get a bit tiresome seeing all the announcements without additional context of the story behind all the work put into this order. I ended up just muting the group chat so I don’t keep getting pinged everytime there’s an announcement.

Seems counterproductive– I'd think it adds noise to the email list. Things are modern now, there could be other ways to express the congratulations– why not put it in an FB post or other online announcement.

I'd flag it as spam– not out of hate, I just get overwhelmed with a huge mail list. I'll congratulate them in person but I have to clear my mail.

My quota is based on invoiced sales that resets quarterly. This includes a sliding-scale commission % based on how far you’re at on your quarterly goal (towards quota) which is checked/paid once a month. The only thing that goes toward our quota is PAID sales. This excludes orders still being processed by DE (largest orders) and customers still within NET payment terms. We don’t get paid until the company gets paid. Am I missing warning potential? Am I being expected of A and judged on B?

I just took a new job and the OTE is less than agreed to after going through the comp plan. Also the recruiter told me 50% of people were hitting their quota and no one was less than 70% last year. However I found out the last 6 months everyone is less than 10%. I know get that recruiters can mislead with performance metrics but giving the wrong OTE seems super unethical to me.
