A car accident a couple years ago resulted in shoulder surgery. I found out this week my settlement amount would be $80K+ (take home). I’m mid 20s + debt free already with a 50% savings rate. Having an internal struggle because part of me wants to enjoy some of it because of the pain that this chapter of my life caused me but then I realize how far ahead this can get me on me FIRE journey. If someone buys an income restricted property and they then get a raise / start earning more than what they originally had at the time of purchase, do they have to sell the property or can they keep it?
