In addition, he used to control all our finances including investing and I don’t know where to start. Can someone please help? Do I put my money in a Roboadvisor or ETFs? Are they the same? Bought a condo and was informed by the existing tenant that the bedroom window in the winter collects way above normal amount of condensation to the point that the floor beneath the window is soaked. I have some concerns that the bones are pretty mediocre (old plumbing has leaked for me, electrical is aluminum). How would you decide and if renting, how do you budget differently for repairs?

Construction costs / inflation / Costa Rica: I am considering buying land & building a short-term vacation rental villa in Costa Rica. Sole goal is to get a 10%+ ROI (going there for holidays as extra perk). All is looking good and I have good planning/advisors, but the only thing that freaks me out is the construction costs increase we are seeing (+15-30%). It kills me that timing is going against me. Would you pause such venture and wait to see how things evolve, or move on to not waste time?
