Hi guys,
What is the policy in your firm related to working hours during Ramadan?
As per the UAE government, private sector working hour must reduce by 2 hours. Does your firm/project comply with this and if not, isn’t that a violation?

It does and it doesn’t. As a manager it’s easy to shift work from mid day to later at night but, the work doesn’t go away. So you still need to find 55 hours in a week at times. There’s always jumping on for fire drills but, most people respect parents taking care of their kids and spending tome.
Thank you for this, definitely some things to consider
I’ve found it harder especially when kids are sick nonstop.
It’s easier if you have a SO not in a demanding job too but in the end sometimes on a flexible schedule, it’s a lot
Makes sense, thanks for the response!

Flexible? Yes. Better? No.
I am free to complete my 14 hours of work during any part of the day.
Yikes. Thanks for the input, making note of all these responses 😅
definitely got way better for me. not sure if i just know what im doing now but first year as mgr never did more than 55 hrs per week and only did weekends twice during busy season. with that said still left the firm this year (2nd yr mgr) for reg 9 to 5 and no weekends ever lol.
Wow, that’s great! Hoping that I can be as lucky as you with the work-life balance
I found being staff / senior was easier. Put your hours in and go home. Once you are signing returns and have a list of clients you have to get done it all falls on you to get them done. Then you have all the non chargeable time on top of it.
I never understood why women wait until Manager to have kids. I know senior is hard but I feel like manager is even harder. It does depend on the service line and department you’re in though. I know some women who have bad to move from tax to another less demanding section or from audit engagements to like an internal role. Good luck with planning
