Help! I am 6’1” tall with long legs and long feet .... and it seems like my “go to online store” for tall pants/slacks (32”-34” inseam) as well as shoes (size 14M) has shuttered (Long Tall Sally). I would love any suggestions for either tall clothes and/or shoes. Even a place to buy custom shoes at this point - I am desperate! My slightly too small size 13 Tory Burch sandals are just not going to cut it during the colder months, even given COVID 🤪 Thanks in advance!
https://nextshark.com/jeremy-lin-coronavirus-g-league-basketball/ Odds of this G league player getting cancelled?
Pre covid vs. during covid how much would you say you spend on eating out, alcohol, trips to the coffee shop, etc? (If this is something you have a sense of!)
Has anyone moved to a city after receiving a job offer BUT before the background check clears? In this situation but scared to sign the lease before getting a start date, God forbid something we’re to happen to the BG check or significantly delay the start date due to COVID or some crazy reason.
COVID-XIX sounds better tho...
Moved into a doorman building for the first time on a covid discount. I didn't realize how well off all the other tenants would be, its a bit unnerving.
Week 11-12, I got Covid (coming out of quarantine now). I’m Moderna vaxed too. Every healthcare professional was like, I’m glad you’re vaccinated. All seems to be Ok. Have my 13 week Nucal next Friday.
Quick check-in. As you get ready for a new week in the classroom. On a scale of 1-10, how are you feeling?
Ladies, do you share your PTO plans w/ your coworkers? My scenario: Joined a new company in May and I'm taking my 1st PTO (1wk). I normally keep my plans to myself (as my coworkers aren't my friends), but since I'm relatively new and never met my colleagues in-person (due to covid) I'm wondering if I'll seem standoffish.
Ladies, as we get our Black Friday deals this week, I hope you check out givebackbox.com— they ask you to reuse shipping boxes to donate clothes/other goods, and give you free shipping labels. I’m lucky to have what I have, as many of us are. During the holidays, I try to donate clothes so that they have a second life. I used to bring bags of donated clothes to Goodwill but given covid, Give Back Box’s free pickup is probably better. Hope you join force!
Lost retainer beginning of pandemic and haven’t been able to get replacement (Covid/Moving Out of State/ Other Priorities). Top teeth have shifted back to some extent, bottom teeth have built in retainer so haven’t moved. Back at parents home now and want to fix this mistake, what are realistic expectations? Full Invisalign program ~ 2-3k, Orthodontist to give me some break since we’ve already paid X thousand, some middle ground? Just want to try and be prepared on fair expectations.
I just started a new job a few weeks ago and happened to contract breakthrough Covid this weekend (ugh) from my partners friend staying with us a few days ago. In the age of work remote should I disclose this to my employer, or no?
Moved here in March with my SO (she’s from here) just before Covid hit and never had a chance to socialize outside of her group of friends. Anyone in a similar situation? Ppl seem very cautious still.
Regarding the 60 minutes report last night on covid’s origins, do you trust the WHO report that a lab leak is extremely unlikely? Do you think a lab leak is a trump conspiracy theory?
For those who had COVID and lost your sense of taste, did you lose it completely or were the flavors just less strong?
Anyone taken time off to just create? Focus on your portfolio and health? I feel like I’m a content-rut, but I want to challenge myself. I miss the rigor of school.
Started a new remote project. So far: headset broke, audio drivers died, ISP went offline, and now network is blocking client's meeting app. It's day 2. I think my SM will want to have my head.
Currently freaking out. I just got an offer from a startup that I plan on accepting but in the offer letter it includes that it’s contingent on passing a drug test. I took edibles three times over the past seven days (not daily) after going on a one+ month cleanse before this because the other company I was interviewing with I knew drug tested, and since I didn’t get it and was frustrated that’s how I chose to cope. What do I do? Do I delay signing the offer as long as I can?
I feel totally blindsided by the interview I just had. I talked informally with Partner 1 before the interview and was told the position would be in one of the firm’s satellite offices. Then, during an interview with Partner 1 and Partner 2, Partner 2 mentioned that I’d have to move to the state where the firm is headquartered because he believes face-time is really important for training/mentoring. I have no plans to move and really hope this wasn’t all a huge waste of time.
Anyone have insight on the culture of ECG Management Consultants? Seems like a pretty interesting firm with a wide breadth of specialty areas.
Have anyone transferred H1b visa to capgemini recently? I am planning to accept the offer from them but at the same time having fear on H1b transfer.please advise.thank you.
How’s EY Dallas? Culture /hours?
So I received a follow up email from mailing list regarding a position I applied and I replied (with a high salary expectation) and did not receive a reply. Could my answer lead to the silence??
Hi Capgemini folks, There are multiple post asking any work from office plan any update on that, how is work culture, how much the hike%? Please anyone clarify above queries.
I've been hearing a lot of RFEs for H1B renewal lately. Can someone who went through this explain what did USCIS want and were you successful in getting in resolved?
Generalist🐠at MBB: do corp dev roles at FAANG, or operational VC/PE roles, care that you were a “generalist” when exiting? I’ve been approached for data analytics roles at MBB (some specialized), but everyone tells me to go generalist when starting....
Any Indian passport holders recently apply for a uk tourist visa? Have a few questions. Happy to DM if required!!
Would you choose an investment job at a private, partner-owned long only fund where you’re guaranteed to never lose your job& can be a multimillionaire; or at a very top L/S HF where the bottom performers are fired each year, but you could make multimillions in a good year? Another related q, would you forego the offer at the first place to potentially get the offer at the second place, knowing it’s very competitive? Assume you’re target background, at another top fund, good work ethics
Can we help someone negotiate what they truly deserve? I would start with myself. Company: EY, Position: Manager Tax, Base Salary £68,500, Car Allowance: £4,500, Bonus: £1,500. What’s yours?
I currently have 1 luxury watch which I primarily wear on the weekends. I’m thinking of adding an Apple Watch for more daily usage while being out in shorts/sweats as I WFH. Any recommendations on which to get or if it is even worth it?
Been offered a job in-house. For a tech brand. Could go from a MW salary to an ACD salary overnight. Marketers are all ex-agency, have big ambitions for the work. They have brand partners so briefs wouldn’t all be for 1 brand. Is it worth it this early on in my career? I’d also get stock options on top of huge salary increase.
