It is irrelevant because you know nothing about me or my travel / living situation. I’m all set thanks👌🏻

like

Do you travel? If yes, DON’T DO IT! It’s cruel to the dog for it to be in daycare for all week. I know people who have killed dogs due to their travel schedule.

like

Hey DD1- thanks for offering unsolicited irrelevant advice that doesn’t answer my question. Everyone else- thanks for real!

like

Its not irrelevant if you’re a traveling consultant. People that travel Monday to Thursday have to make sacrifices, and one of them is that it’s cruel to own a dog when you’re gone that much. Dogs don’t do well when they’re separated from their owners as frequently as we are. If you want to have a dead dog on your hands, that’s your choice. I’m doing my part to make sure as many dogs have good homes as I can

like

That’s why I started with a question about your travel. You chose to become incredibly defensive when an “I don’t travel [often] for work” would suffice

like

DD1 - or you could have said nothing. He could travel but a SO/roommate may be at home helping with the dog. Unsolicited advice may be easier to stomach if you lead with an actual answer to the question (recommended resources).

I have no resources OP but I'm so jealous!! 🐕

Make sure to get a lot of toys if your remote or WFH. Play in the morning, and while they sleep you can work peacefully. Hope that helps 🙂

Be sure to check the dog’s temperament. I had adopted a dog once that turned out to be pretty vicious. It scared me off from adopting again. With my current dog (who I bought), I turned her over on her back and she stayed that way for more petting. Also, she let us touch her paws and tail and was not bothered.

What would u do in this "hypothetical" scenario.
1. Student gets 95 percentile on standardized tests in 1st grade.
2. 2nd gr teacher, capable and flexible but a little old school.
3. Parent, from foreign country, wants us to teach 2 years ahead of where student is at in math and reading in case they have to return to other country.
4. District's old standard for acceleration is at the 97th+ percentile and other students are much more"advanced".
5. Parent wants detailed steps for teacher's plan

Question for the folks who believe life begins at conception: at what point do we start holding the child responsible for the damages done to the mother during the pregnancy?

Especially, if the mother didn’t want to continue the pregnancy and dies in childbirth? Should that child be charged with involuntary manslaughter at delivery?

If they have rights, at what point can they be held responsible for involuntary actions?

My husband and I are so undecided on having a third kid. We have a great thing going with our 4 and 6 year olds, but wondering if we’ll regret not having another. I’ve always wanted a large family but stopping now, with two, obviously has a lot of perks. Any advice or ways to think about this? Thanks!

Have you and your spouses found any good / unique ways to have a date night recently? We are so tired of doing the same thing all day every day.... but aside from ordering takeout we don’t know what to do. 7pm kid goes to bed and by 9pm we are ready for bed. We used to do painting and puzzles and fancy drinks but I’m pregnant and the others feel like longer commitments than we want right now....

Struggling to emotionally connect with my 3mo old.

Between a full work schedule and looking after our older child (a precocious 3yo), I feel like I have little emotional bandwidth to connect with the baby. My wife is breastfeeding and doing the bulk of the work, but when I pitch in to change a diaper or burp him (often while also on a call), it feels very transactional.

Feel pretty guilty about it. Does anyone relate? Or am I an outlier?

Not looking for judgment or advice, just some kind words of support.
I'm pretty sure I'm pregnant, getting the confirmation tomorrow. The father isn't someone I can reach out to, I haven't been able to tell anyone and won't be planning to.
I intend to get an abortion once it's confirmed.

I've always been pretty independent but this just feels so lonely, going through all this waiting and anxiety alone.

HI fishes,
My joining date in TCS is on December 3rd week.Unfortunately i am having some family issues.Due to which i am not in a state of mind to take up the new job and responsibilities in TCS. Since it s only two weeks left to join there , i am also worried if i informed to HR with in this short notice that i would be banned for future job opportunities in TCS. I am very much interested to work with TCS once the family issues get settled. Please give me your valuable suggestions.
