It is irrelevant because you know nothing about me or my travel / living situation. Iâm all set thanksđđ»
Do you travel? If yes, DONâT DO IT! Itâs cruel to the dog for it to be in daycare for all week. I know people who have killed dogs due to their travel schedule.
Hey DD1- thanks for offering unsolicited irrelevant advice that doesnât answer my question. Everyone else- thanks for real!
Its not irrelevant if youâre a traveling consultant. People that travel Monday to Thursday have to make sacrifices, and one of them is that itâs cruel to own a dog when youâre gone that much. Dogs donât do well when theyâre separated from their owners as frequently as we are. If you want to have a dead dog on your hands, thatâs your choice. Iâm doing my part to make sure as many dogs have good homes as I can
Thatâs why I started with a question about your travel. You chose to become incredibly defensive when an âI donât travel [often] for workâ would suffice
DD1 - or you could have said nothing. He could travel but a SO/roommate may be at home helping with the dog. Unsolicited advice may be easier to stomach if you lead with an actual answer to the question (recommended resources).
I have no resources OP but I'm so jealous!! đ
Make sure to get a lot of toys if your remote or WFH. Play in the morning, and while they sleep you can work peacefully. Hope that helps đ
Be sure to check the dogâs temperament. I had adopted a dog once that turned out to be pretty vicious. It scared me off from adopting again. With my current dog (who I bought), I turned her over on her back and she stayed that way for more petting. Also, she let us touch her paws and tail and was not bothered.
