What would u do in this "hypothetical" scenario.
1. Student gets 95 percentile on standardized tests in 1st grade.
2. 2nd gr teacher, capable and flexible but a little old school.
3. Parent, from foreign country, wants us to teach 2 years ahead of where student is at in math and reading in case they have to return to other country.
4. District's old standard for acceleration is at the 97th+ percentile and other students are much more"advanced".

Advice needed - only child and have been out of the house for about a decade. Parents have not been keeping up with the house, except for emergencies but don’t really care about aesthetics...cont.

My favorite thing to do when I fly is to turn to my coworker once we're settled in our seats and say with a straight face, "We have to get these mother f*ckin snakes off this mother f*ckin plane."

Question for the folks who believe life begins at conception: at what point do we start holding the child responsible for the damages done to the mother during the pregnancy?

Especially, if the mother didn’t want to continue the pregnancy and dies in childbirth? Should that child be charged with involuntary manslaughter at delivery?

If they have rights, at what point can they be held responsible for involuntary actions?

My brother suffers from a form of PTSD and maybe due to that, nightly he will have these night terrors… he will scream at the top of his lungs and usually say heavy expletives very loud. I wake him up and he does not remember. Is there any treatment for this? Have a young kid in the house and she is getting woken up and scared, since this happens every night. Thank you

Have you and your spouses found any good / unique ways to have a date night recently? We are so tired of doing the same thing all day every day.... but aside from ordering takeout we don’t know what to do. 7pm kid goes to bed and by 9pm we are ready for bed. We used to do painting and puzzles and fancy drinks but I’m pregnant and the others feel like longer commitments than we want right now....

Struggling to emotionally connect with my 3mo old.

Between a full work schedule and looking after our older child (a precocious 3yo), I feel like I have little emotional bandwidth to connect with the baby. My wife is breastfeeding and doing the bulk of the work, but when I pitch in to change a diaper or burp him (often while also on a call), it feels very transactional.

Feel pretty guilty about it. Does anyone relate? Or am I an outlier?
